Nightlife in Patong

Hello guys!

I’m new here and I understand that some of you hear knows a lot about Thailand and especially of Patong. What you don’t know don’t seems to be worth knowing

I’m going to Patong beach this winter, for the first time, during Christmas and the new year with a friend and I would like hear some tips from you.

What places shouldn’t I be missing? What things shouldn’t I be missing to do or see or people to talk with, and what things should I avoid, things that isn’t worth seeing or doing.

And if I understand this with girls correctly, there are Bg, girls who work in bars and sell sex for money, and there are go-go girls, Fl , and girls in massage places that also sell sex. I’m not judging this, I’m sure this is very nice too (I’m probably going to spend some time with such girls too :ytounge: but I wonder if there isn’t any “ordinary” girls too, girls who you can meet on the dancefloor on a regular disco, girls that are working with a “normal” job or studies and are out partying at the nights, just like home with other words he he?

yes, there are normal girls everywhere in Phuket who have a steady job but some will sleep with people for some extra money, esp in Patong. Of course, some just normal people going to disco for fun. If you go to Patong, Tiger disco is packed with FL girls, and later with BG and gogo girls. If you want to meet some locals, better go to Phuket Town.

Yes I have read a lot of past threads, I think I have understood the most things but it's a little bit tricky some time to sort it all out, especially when it's a lot of new words to me and shortenings like Bg and Fl (it took me som time understand what that ment ) and so on.

Maybe I can ask a couple of more direct questions to you guys:

1) Which are the best bars according to you and whats the name of the street?

2) Which bars have most of Bg and which have less of them.

3) Which are the best dicos according to you and whats the name of the street?

4) Which discos have most of Bg and which have less of them.

5) What about bars and discos in Phuket Town, any good ones there to visit?

6) What about Thai boxing? Do they have fights in patong every night and is it any good ones? :cheergal:

7) What does the thai girls think about Bg?

8) How can you tell a Bg from a regular Tg, should you ask her straight out or?

9) Is there any special streets that have a lot of Lb?

10) what time does the bars and discos close at? Do they follow the new rules or don't? haven't got that one straight at all.

11) I will be staying at the Andatel hotel, anyone that have something good or bad to tell about that hotel?

These where some of newbie questions, I hope you can help me sort out a couple of things by answering them

I was there a few months back and always started my evening at Shipwreck, on Soi Bangla, great for some people watching. Cute girl behind the bar dishing out the drinks and a very cute 1/2 Thai 1/2 Chinese lass (Hua?) getting the punters in. Worth a look though I now wish I'd seen a bit more of Hua if you know what I mean ! The other girls (or should I say women!) there are somewhat older.....

Then when you're done with people watching pick a soi & take a look - you won't be disappointed

the main entertainment occurs on "bangla road"which has many side roads off of it
these roads (or soi,s as they are called in thai)have many bars and entertainment in them
if you pick a girl to go back to your hotel with ,you have to pay a small fee to the bar(2-300bht)and also agree a payment to her(circa,1000bht)for all night and sometimes the next day too!(pay her the next day)
get a map of bangla road on google then you will know your way around and you will be able to fing the mai tai bar in soi eric ,where you can ask niche ,the bar owner ,any questions !

the andatel hotel is a bit far away from bangla road ,so you might have to get a tuk tuk each way
make sure you have booked a double room! not a single! and make sure they are "guest friendly" too!
e-mail them and ask them,-------or when you take a lady back they may/will charge a "joiner" fee!
if you e-mail them, and they say that they dont charge a joiner fee ,print their reply off and take it with you as proof!
also use their taxi pick-up service from the airport to avoid any hassle from the taxi mafia who may mess you around

Oh very good information! Do you know circa how far it is from the hotel to Bangla, when I booked they said about 10 minutes walk, and that I thougt sounded good, its that correct?

Oh its good know about the taxi service but I have booked transfer from the airport already because I'v bought a package travel.

the problem with a travel package is that they normally only send you too "family"hotels, these hotels, are not normally guest friendly, as they dont want bar girls to be there, as they think that their precence might upset the other "family "gueists there but if you e-mail them they might say ok --good luck

Ok we will see, I will send them a mail shortly. I had no other option when I booked, because every single flight from Sweden and back from Phuket during chistmas was already booked up, not a single seat left than with the airplanes that package travel agencys use :complain:

Viper take note of what Andy50 said, get the map and find Mai Tai and don't worry. All the questions you asked will be answered in a 10 minute chat in the bar with any BM in there. Everyone has their own experiences but its far more enjoyable finding out first hand and making up your own mind. If you continue reading the other posts especially in newbie area you will be armed with more information than will ever need. I read the other posts and now which are far more enjoyable when comparing my own experiences, thoughts and errors because i have been there and done most of the same stuff and am forever changing my opinion, but then i always think too much until i actually get to LOS then heck it all goes out the window and I end up living from minute to minute and making a load more really enjoyable mistakes. Probably the best advice is do not try to analyse things now while you are sober and cold, get over there, get a few singha down you and go with the flow, you will end up your own backside if you for one minute think about it too much, it is the best holiday you will ever have and will not be the last time you will go. Thais, bg's,lb's,fl's are all great fun if you go with an open mind and a smile on your face,
