[Spicy Chicken Sandwich]

It`s on again at the usual place The Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa at Karon.

Plenty of great acts playing including Cream and Pink Floyd cover bands.

I was listening to a local radio station and they were talking to the promoter.
Apparently Carlos Santana is playing in BKK in early March and he says he is talking to Santana`s manager about appearing at the festival.

Certainly would be a big one if Santana were to play there.

Will keep a look out to see if it comes off or not.

I hope they have a rethink on the tickets where you have to buy a 2 day pass. One night is enough for me, but, if Santana gets confirmed I'll definitely be there. Santana puts on a great show.

yeah,one night would be enough for me,the saturday night is looking like the best.

i made an enquiry about the VIP tickets,advertised @ 3500 at the door or 3k purchased prior,as to what exactly you get for it.
no answer as yet.

admission is 1500 baht at the door,1200 for pre purchase.

In years past the VIP got you all the food and drink you can consume including beers, which has been Kingfisher in the past.

hmmmm....5 hours consuming @ 1800 Baht or an extra 2k @ walk in price.

could only see it as a positive for not having to queue up for a drink and wait for your change.

How was the crowd last night?

i should be able to post some pics later but there wasn`t a huge crowd,hard to guess numbers,maybe a couple of hundred,but mainly older type farang dudes and a handful of Thais.
it was all seating with a small dance area in front of the seforum.xxxe.
the roomy outdoor setting and the good music made for a really laid back feel to the whole night.
the catering was excellent too.i pre purchased a VIP ticket so it was a 20 yard walk to the bar and no waiting or queuing for a drink.
BM fisho had a SLR camera so he may be able to post some pics too.

I was there last night (Sat).
Good crowd, I think a little better than Friday's crowd.
I thought the best band was the John Mayer band from Perth Australia.
3 piece band that was super tight and amazing guitarist.
The Pink Floyd band brought back lots of good memories and was good too>
As to the headliner, Curtis, although he is obvious a professional with a professional tight band, I thought his songs were too long, drawn out and a bit boring. But, we were mostly all drunk by then anyway.

the prodigal Sons were fantastic last night,i thought.
they really put on a good show and got the crowd to their feet en masse.

i love Pink Floyd so enjoyed the New Machine although they were very scratchy the first song or so but played really well after that.
Mason Ruffner on friday night was excellent.

i took a couple of quick vids with my camera just so people can see what it was like there.
will definitely be going again next year!

the Prodigal Sons will be playing at the Famous night club in Jungceylon today from 17.00.

i hope they get a decent crowd in as they are the type of band that seems to feed off lively audience participation.

As the Loop says -- a fantastic night at Blues Festival - my first time.
Regretably could not go on Saturday - back to BKK in afternoon.

The Loop made use of his VIP ticket and beer flowed freely as did the wine for others
I laid low after too many shots at MTB --- just water lol

Loop, if you love PF get hold of the Roger Waters video "In The Flesh Live". Filmed in Portland, OR, USA (around 2000 I think) it is loaded with the Floyd's music plus some of Waters' solo stuff. The band is phenomenal, all stellar veteran players, and the video and directing are great!

A definite 'do not miss' for Floyd fans! :great:
