phuket traveler lookin t meet more experienced phuket travelers

hey im a 21 yr old student from australia who has been to phuket 7 times in the last 8 months....
I dont know how to put it.... but... it beats the hell out of perth haha
I love the bar scene, and the friendly atmosphere, not to mention the girls :mdr:
However I am yet again going to phuket on the 18th of June with two of my friends for 6 nights and would love to meet up with anyone who is in the phuket region, id love to hear peoples oppinions of where to drink/meet girls/shop etc
even if you wont be in phuket, hit me back with some tips/advice, however i better tell you where we usually go, so you know where to start

generally we stay at aloha hotel just off bangla road because of the cheap rates and the fact that they have no problems, also its true this may be because i have no experience with other hotels, they charge us around 900 baht a night during low season and offer nothing more than a double bed, balcony, safe, tv with cable, so any tips there are appreciated
we usually pre-drink our bottles of sang soom in the hotel before heading out at around 11pm to start our night in either hollywood, tiger or tai pan
our main focus is on attractive girls so of course were constantly on the prowl
we dont always head straight to the main discos but also seldom spend time in places like world class agogo, the bar district in front of the keys hotel, i have at this point seen 5 ping pong shows and have played more than my fair share of connect 4 and jenga
would love to hear oppinions of people who travel regularly and feel like im missing out on something

Dan - Head to Mai Thai Bar in Soi Eric on Bangla. That is the meeting point of lots of people from the forum. You will get to meet many nice people, who will be able to offer you some good advice, on where to go and places to eat.

sorry im not sure if the names correct but its on the corner of bangla opposite tai pan and on the opposing corner is factory i think
well yeah iv only taken girls from there once or twice, but its not a bad place to relax and have a few drinks, theres sometimes promotional deals were you can buy 1 drink get 1 free etc
i was in suzy wongs, but in all honesty felt a little uncomfortable with the girls as they put too much pressure on you to choose who you like and buy them drinks etc
i prefer to browse for longer before i decide or get bugged

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a local bar with live band then Kor Tor Mor, Timber Hut, and Sofa are two good places. KTM and Sofa is majority young locals with some local Farangs from time to time. Lots of local Thai girls to look at and try to chat up if you can speak some Thai. Timber Hut has an older crowd with a fairly large number of Farangs frequenting.

If you're looking for a place with girls then Fantasia is a good place to pick up a girl. Place is pretty quiet most of the time but there are quite a few girls "available."

Another place is called DUZz and it's a coyote bar. Basically have lots of girls dressed skimpily that dance, sit, and drink with you. I'd say majority of the girls are on the prettier side. Of course the more LD you buy the more fun you're gonna have. At the moment I'd say DUZz is THE place for this kind of entertainment in Phuket. Girls there are technically not P4P as they usually won't just go with a customer right away. You need to spend some time to get to know them first.

Phuket town is catered towards the local customer so it's a different style from Patong. But I think it's a good idea to at least give it a try.

sure...but you are recommending it to relative newbies...its not easily fathomable for a newbie and its easy to make a mistake (maybe with some Thai guys GF) over there even for an old hand like me and quickly find yourself out of your depth....perhaps you can offer to take first timers out on their first PT night and show them around when recommending the place

nelsonone, you're right about the newbie thing. I just assumed one would first check if the girl has a BF. FYI for the newbies to Phuket Town, if you want to chat up a Thai girl in the normal bars like Kor Tor Mor and Sofa, do so respectfully as these are just normal girls on a night out. They're not P4P girls like in Patong and other tourist areas.

As nelsonone's recommendation, I'd be happy to bring anyone along for a night out in Phuket Town. Just send me a message and we'll work something out. Always up for meeting new friends.
