Presenting feet that are so sore all over

Hi there,

I was wondering if as a clinical reflexologist somebody came to you with feet that so totally ached all over, all the time,,in fact for two years when sometimes it such a pain that it cud drive you nuts! would that mean that something is wrong with the whole body, for instance a blood thing or lymph? just wondering what your take on it would be..

just looking for reflexology point of view..subject im very interested in and the painful feet are mine,, []

Hi Aquablue,

It's such a difficult question to answer without a full consultation and seeing your feet.

Reflexology does relieve a huge amount of pressure and rids the body of excess fluids and toxins ~ which in itself will help your feet to feel less painful.

I wonder if you have bunions ? Badly fitting footware? Are you on your feet all day ? There are so many thing which could account for your condition it's hard to give you an answer!

But if you've never experienced Reflexology before I'd say give it a go !!

Hi there

Have you been to a podiatrist, they will look at your feet and check out the way you are walking, ask you about your shoes etc. It may be that you need some sort of extra support in your shoes.

Another point could it beyour shoes -my husband says he cannot wear shoes unless they are leather all over including the soles because it makes his feet draw or ache.

My feet started like this AFTER i gave birth in 2004,,it just appeared,,docs can give no explanation they coudnt pin this 'symtom' into anything,,it was so weird, never ever had a prob with my feet, i wear shoes that 'fit' i dont squeeze into anything i like comfort. my feet had a general malaise whilst pregnant but nothing like what hit me after i had my section.

ive had hormonal tests, rheumatism tests,,cholsterial tests,,ive never been a slim person im but im no dawn french either, but my feet have never been a prob, how to describe how they feel im a loss for words,,if you imagine your feet have been run over by something and they are on about their third day of healing and all the bruising is coming out, put your foot to the floor and feel the pain,,its like i cant walk prop when i get up and i have to ;break'them in as the day goes on,,but it never goes, if i sit then stand its there, im always aware of the pain but i try and ignore it,,im at a loss[&:]

i was thinking along the lines of reflexolgy to give a pointer as i know that in clinical relfexlolgoy you can say that you have 'crystals' in your liver area or gall bladder, in fact it was a reflexologist student who said to me you have crystals (cant remember term) in your gall bladder area, which i know is a tiny reflex and you know what no doctor at that time when i had some pain would do anything,, anyway it was my gall bladder and about four years later i had to have it removed! i was wondering how it would be for the whole foot,,i see it as my whole body,,is that correct?

Hi Aquablue,

Is there a chance you have plantar fasciitis? If it is first thing in the morning when you get out of bed, and never really gets better throughout the day there's a good chance that could be part of it. Was your section especially traumatic for you? Perhaps you are holding on to trauma, fear, pain, et cetera from the labor and section?

I agree with the others, there could be many reasons why your feet are sore all the time. Does the rest of your body ache too? Your feet are trying to send you a very strong message, and it is a good thing you are listening. I urge you to seek out a podiatrist and/or reflexologist to get to the bottom of this mystery.

I have just been told i have plantar fasciitis (about four weeks ago) and iam in constant pain, but more so when getting out of bed, off a chair etc.

My feet also swell up - even the hoovering can do this. My Gps advice - to lose weight. If anyone else has any ideas i would be glad to hear them!

If you go to a podiatrist (or possible a physiotherapist), you can have orthotics made for your shoes which will lift your arches. I agree that losing weight may help, but that is a slow process and you don't want to be in pain for such a long time.

Also your fallen arches and stretched tendons could be having an impact on your knees, hips and lower back, so it's best to get it sorted out sooner rather than later.

thanks for your replies i will definintily be going to a podiatrist.

Aromababe i do have lowerback probs just wear and tear arthritis and i have aching hips and thighs.[]

Its funny cos even though they ache so much ilove to rub them really really hard and i seem to have more tender spots then others, for instance ,, across themiddle of my foot under neath (the waistline in reflexology) is more sore,, and down the outside eedge of my foot from waistline to shoulder area,,oohh that gets so sore ,,my heels sometimes i feel like the bone is coming through the bottom of it,,! it isnt , but it feels like it,, then either side of my heel under my ankle,,ooohhh that gets so sore too,,but it is the whole foot,, funny doc hasnt mentioned my weight but i havent had answers either,

i was trying to look at my own arches the other day,,, coudnt do it, but i will seek further..

Oh dear just wrote a long reply and it disappeared.

Have you had a reflex treatment it would be of great benefit whatever the cause. I've had a lot of clients with Plantar fasciitis and they say it helps more than anything. Helps disperse crystals if you also have a heel spur and stretches fascia and tendons.

Perhaps you would also like to get some info on fibromyalgia as you have other symptoms and see if you think it may apply to you.

I have had both and reflexology is a great benfit to both.

Try rolling a golf ball under your heel and sole, that can be a good help too.

You have just summed it up - plantar fasciitis means that the ligaments running across the bottom of the foot are stretched and at the heel end, bone begins to grow along the ligament, causing a condition called Spur Heel.
