Rectum - Sorry !!

Sorry I have to ask this ! A question messing with my head!
The Rectum !! Yes I know!
Where is it - I mean - i know where it is - but where is it on the foot!
I know where I was taught - but it is different in the Laura Norman book!
I was taught - just above the appendix on the left foot just above the sciatic nerve. In the Laura Norman book it states that it is towards the upper part of the ankle quite high up????
Again apologies but it was bugging me!

Hi Tracey,

I have finished ITEC Reflex course and we learnt from Renee Tanner sequence\charts. We learnt that the rectum is on the left foot above the sciatic nerve as the colon begins on the right foot, goes across the left foot and ends with the rectum and anus. We also learnt that the appendix was on the right foot. This confuses me too how the reflex areas can be different in other books.

Had to have a little titter. It's only on this forum that you could get a question about the rectum answered by enchanted hands.....Now I'm not going any further down that route except to say that I wish I'd had access to enchanted hands after the birth of my 1st son and the dreaded "piles"!!!

Also work around the achilles tendon for rectum/anus helper area. Was once working on this area on a lady when my intuition did that thing when a thought pops into your head and won't go away (my intuition is a bit like a dirty great sandbag bopping you over the head, since it has realised that being subtle doesn't work with me haha). I asked the lady if she had piles and yes, she did!

I once saw a rectum when I was working as a medical secretary for some histopathologists (the folks who analyse biopsies) in a hospital - the girls in the lab took me to see it, bless them. Sorry if this has put anyone off their lunch.

Hee Hee !! That made me chuckle - they see all sorts of sights don't they! I bet that image stayed with you for a while!!

Must go - got to catch some zzzzzz's. I am an insomniac - get about 4 hours a night - husband is a snorer. I wake every 2 hours or so! Maybe I should do some reflexology on myself!

Yes I meant the right foot sorry I have put the left foot on the previous post - you know sometimes you say a word in your head but you don't actually type it or you brain says something and you type the exact opposite !!
Sorry for confusion.
I have just spoken to a friend of mine who is a reflexologist who has just also become a midwife and she is combining the two together for pain relief and she states that she trained through the AOR and she was taught that the rectum area is just around the sciatic nerve not up the achilles????
Oh well as long as we cover the whole foot !! But how confusing!

Hi TJG I was taught Renee Tanner method and the Rectum is on the left foot at the top of the heel pad just above sciatic line as the anus lies just below it. The route taken is right foot Appendix/IC Valve ascending colon and transverse colon, onto the left foot and it is transverse/descending colon then from zone 4 (near little toe) to zone 1 (big toe) along the pelvic floor line and passing the sigmoid colon and onto the rectum then down to anus. This was the final move we done in this method and then balancing. Usually the client is very relaxed and asleep!
