Reflexologist chair

What do you budding reflexologist use when you treat someone ?? Is there a particular stool you use if so where can I get a suitable one that will support my back but not pay over the odds for.

Any advice would be most humbly appreciated.

I use a La fuma for my client and I sit on a dining room chair supplied by the client.
At my clinic the client lies/reclines ona massage couch and I sit on an office chair.

At home, I use a La Fuma chair for my client, and I sit on an office chair.

For mobile work, I use the La Fuma for my client and I sit on a La Fuma CNO folding chair with backrest (has a back, but no arms) which is extremely comfortable and costs about £15.

Hiya,

I use an adjustable therapists stool with my clients on a LaFuma !! I prefer to have the option of adjusting the height of my chair ~ with shorter clients I can sit lower down and for clients with longer legs I move the stool height upwards .... this definately helps my back, especially on days when i'm doing 4 clients or more !!!

I had a therapist stool with backrest, but I found the height adjustment a bit limited - I now use an office chair which has a greater range of adjustment and is more comfortable too. I could not do without a wheelie chair, as I have back problems and was making things worse by contorting myself into weird positions through not being able to scoot around! Now I wheel myself around and it's much better. It depends how much you like to move around when treating. Think about whether you prefer a backrest or not when you're considering your purchase.

Thanks for feeback- I think a trip to IKEA might be coming on... I'll try it out and see how it feels,,, I really need something to assist my failing back....

Well, I got an ab fab recliner for my Reflexology. I was just doing a spot of shopping in the Co-op and I spotted a recliner for £15.99.....yes, that's right...£15.99!

The client's feet rest at the perfect height for me, with me sat on a stool I got from IKEA. My clients absolutely love the recliner and they tell me it's sooooo comfy. I'll agree with them there.. I couldn't believe it when I tried it out myself. It just goes to show that you don't have to spend over the odds for makes like Lafuma and you can still give a professional treatment.

Will check out the LaFuma as it seems to be a good lightweight one + stool. Have already got a large couch which is "portable" for a reasonably fit male! Wish I had known earlier but perhaps when I have my own building .....

the la fumas are coming down in price, and in my opinion have been worth every penny that I spent on mine (£100 including postage). I bought the carry case from the FHT so it protects it and also easier to carry as I have both hands free.
They are now doing the la fumas in cheaper material, and can get them in Argos. Don't know how comfy the cheaper ones are, I love the fact that they are padded.

One thing that I don't like about the la fumas is the gap at the bottom. I have a normal pillow that fits into the carry case and use that, but in some pictures I have seen people using the headrest to cover that hole at the bottom.

I have bought the one from Argos (a couple of years ago). its really comfy and all my clients love it - even the extremely heavy pregnant ones too.

For the space at the end, I use a bolster which i cover with the towel I am using for the treatment and the clients feet go on top of this so it gives me that extra height needed.

LaFuma padded one which i use is very good, do not go for cheap one, lafuma i bought it for £100 FHT they sale for £120+postage.

I have had two different recliners, the latest being a Lafuma which I use with a pillow (or the headrest if I ever forget the pillow doing mobiles) - I really like my one and was lucky to get it on ebay at a very reduced price £70 as it was second hand, but in excellent condition. I also have one of the small adjustable footrests on the odd occasion when I go out and can't drive, which is pretty useful.
