So you like VivaMex do you? I don't care how much you tip, but certainly $30 would seem out of line given the price of the massage. I usually tip $10 for a good massage, and $5 if it was only ok or bad. So if you tip $30 Biggdogg that's great, as I feel sorry for these girls. Gods knows they don't make much money, as the minumium wage is very low in Mexico, in 2000 it was like 33 pesos, and not more than $2 a hour now, depending on the classification of work in Mexico and what zone. I don't know what VivaMex or Azteca pays, but if they are depending on tips I can tell you they don't make as much as a therapists in the US, and I know US therapists usually don't make a good wage, unless they are working the high end clubs. So if I'm going HOME that night, I don't get a MASSAGE, unless I'm staying over NIGHT because by morning it usually wears off.

Now the Asian MP's know about the concerns of 'Married Men' and understand if you tell them no OIL. It's not that way in Tijuana, if you tell them no OIL, they are going to look at you weird, because there whole routine is set up using OILS. { they might claim they have no odor oils, but so far with me, those no odor oils do smell, and are still hard to wash off.]

You don't just have to be concerned about TJ MP's but you also have to be concerned about Bargirls having to much perfume on, because that shit is also very hard to wash off if they get it on you.

If your coming home before 9:00 Pm and you have MP oil or perfume on your body, and you could still smell it, you might stop off at BAlly's or other fitness center; just JUMP in the pool or HOT spa, and the chlorine will WASH that shit right off, and now you have a excuse WHY your late coming HOME.

Watching your wallet is always a good practice. I often carry an "essentials only" wallet while it TJ. (It has my CA ID card and my "play money." I carry ones and fives.) There have been several times that I've made Via Mex my last stop on the way home. Consequently, there wasn't "big money" left in my wallet. On these ocassions I've left my wallet unattended--and never had so much as a dollar stolen.

It's true the owner has had problems with employee theft. (It's also true he has taken "agressive steps" to stop it.) However, the problems are related to employee "skimming." (They do something like say they only did 3 massages when they did 5 massages and pocket the money from the massages they don't report.) I've never heard of any of his employees stealing from clients. (They know he'd get the cops involved if a customer reported a theft.)

Again, it's always prudent to watch your wallet. But when they've had the chance to get into my wallet they haven't; I haven't heard of anybody having a wallet stolen at Viva Mex.

Do you guys take your wallet with you when you shower at VivaMex? I leave it right there in the room, but I got to admit I'm a little uncomfortable doing so, because anyone could walk in the room at take money, and there was a 'ring' of workers at VivaMex embezzling money from the owner. It's been my experience in law enforcement, when people are stealing from their boss, they will have no problem stealing from the customer too, as they have no respect for either.

I'm just kidding I'm not in 'law enforcement' just a inside joke, but yes it really did happen at VivaMex, and the owner didn't call the police, but rather have the workers sign confessions to their 'CRIME' and if they don't pay the owner back, he'll turn them in along with that signed confession.[ It's always wrong to steal, but if I was those workers, I would have never signed a confession]

I understand they have lockers at this place, but I must have MISSED them, you could also take your wallet with you when you shower.

VivaMex therapists seemed to want to discourage me from taking a shower or act suprised when I say I want to take a shower first. I got that habit from the Asian MPs who FROWN UPON you if you don't take a shower first. I take it most people in Mexican massage palors don't take a shower first, because the 'THERAPISTS' use plenty of MASSAGE OILS on you, and you have to take a SHOWER before leaving.

Now you know why I recommend Via Mex Spa! It's not that Azteca is a bad place, it isn't and I've had many enjoyable massages there. However, Viva Mex and Azteca aren't in the same league. The difference is like watching a high school football game vs. a pro football game.

I went to Vivamex at 9:30am Monday. I've been a vocal advocate of Azteca
as they have always done well by me. However, Vivamex knocked my socks off. The place is awesome. The receptionist speaks excellent english. My therapist was Selene, and she was also AWESOME. Truly, one of the best massages I have ever had, and I have had 100's. The rooms are terrific and well appoinrted. The music was pleasant and appropiate. No paper covered tables here and the place had AC. WOW! You can laugh at me but, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SOAP DISPENSERS IN THE SHOWER. I just HATE those frkn plastic glued on soap frkn wrappers. Good grief, they have thought of everything. They are cetainly deserving of the business. They have spent the money to do it right. Who ever heard of that in TJ.
