Hey guys,

I have my trip planned out and will be in patong for about 8 nights. ITs my longest solo trip in thailand ever. The last one was in patong for about 3 nights. I have read through quite a few of the threads on these sites over the past year or so. Still a bit confused on a no. of areas. First of all some of the abbrevs i am not sure about aka BM? I take it FL is freelance ladies? LB is lady boys?

Anyway i digress. Is there a map with alot of the gogos and bars etc? I have been to phuket only thrice before. The first time I went with a girlfriend and we both had no idea on where anything was (besides i couldnt do anything ....anyway).

The 2nd time was with a couple of mates and we had no clue and learnt it all as we went and only really figured out some of the way things worked at the end.

The third time was for 3 nights by myself and only on the third night did i learn a bit about the bar fines and that the bars seemed a better place to get girls (quality / age wise at least). I am not sure if thats true, thats just what i experienced. The previous 2 nights i went to some of the massage joints looking for talent (not finding too many to my liking as i prefer young and cute) and also went to Christines.

I am a bit wary / afraid that i may get bored as i am going by myself and also wondering if its worth all the travel money if i am going to be bored. I am not really interested in the tour type stuff as i have already done a few of the snorkelling and island hopping tours plus the shooting range!

I did read on one of the threads about a bat cave with a lot of spiders etc, i love my spiders..... Any idea which tour that was and how far / long it takes from patong beach?

I was interested in getting some tips on value for money joints to get decent quality ladies. This trip has to be the lowest budgeted trip yet as i have a lot of obligations at the moment. So I am trying to plan it out a bit better so as not to be paying overpriced charges if i can help it. It sounds like with the soi's and bars / gogos etc there can be a bit of difference in the charges for drinks ( i dont drink much anyway), bar fines and ladies prices.

Generally my experience has been that the ladies seem to charge between 2000-3000 baht and i seem to read that generally i should be aiming at somewhere around 1500 baht if its a lot more than that then i am probably paying over the standard price?

I have been to Taipan i think (once) and also went to one of those corridors on bangla road where there are mini bars on each side. I think those are what you guys call the Soi ....? Is that right? If thats the case then i dont think i have been to any of the go go bars? Are they the bars at the end of the corridors where they have the SOI names? Sorry if i am sounding a bit confused. Just trying to understand the difference between the night club type areas like i think taipan is, then the bars and gogo bars. I never saw the Suzie Wong the last few times i was there so maybe worth going in there. Is that near bangla road?

I generally want young and cute, do sort of prefer the innocent nice ones to the more attitude ones as generally the attitude ones may also be up themselves a bit and / or may be more after the cash only. Some times i have notice the young and innocent ones seem to more enjoy the company and give a more GFE but i could be wrong. I havent had much experience. The only catch though is i also dont really enjoy starfish and i seem to generally end up with that kind of experience from the girls that i brought back from a massage place as well as one of those mini bar places. The only one who gave a decent performace was this girl i picked up at the bamboo club i think...the place where its mainly westerners dancing. But this girl was a bit old and also a bit up and down.

I was going to go to Christines a couple of times too, any tips there? The prices are quite a bit though. From what i have read it seems ideal to get a good quality chick for LT over night stay and then the next afternoon you can perhaps have a ST fun with a massage or Christines...Then in the night back to finding a LT. From what i remember with LT, you can go as many times as you like right? I think generally thats what i am after, good quality LT girls as opposed to a lot of STs.

I am sure some of the mini bars or SOIs are more accustomed to suit my needs than others, when i talk about price and types of girls that frequent it. I am not sure if gogos or Suzie wong might be better? I have never experienced them. Being a shy guy, I dont really go up to stranger and befriend them so most likely i will be travelling / frequenting the joints by myself. Hence why i figured i might as well get some advice before i go and i can print out a list of places to go and the pros and cons.

You've got a lot of questions/concerns...go to the Mai Thai Bar (MTB) on Soi Eric after 10pm...you'll meet other board members (BM) and they will be able to advise you.

Hey guys, Am in patong. Went past MTB, but was a bit intimidated by the sheer no. of folks there haha. Am a bit shy.

So far have gone through the bars a couple of times now. Find it a bit difficult to get the girl to come home, they want me to pay a BF but also still wait till closing time or near enough before she is allowed to leave. Secondly have a bit of trouble getting the girls i like to come home as a lot of times they seem to be scared of my dark colour and size since i tend to do a lot of weights and sports. They think i might be really "big" and think it might hurt too much even though i am quite gentle when it comes to those things.

Also seem to end up with girls that once they come home, they have to be asked to do things, as in they just sort of lie there or sit there and watch tv, and need a bit of convincing to get into the SPA (actually sometimes they just dont want the spa) but also to get things rolling. The FL i have had previously seemed quite different, is that a age thing as FLs are generally probably older? I am thinking maybe i should try the FL but i like the BG look as they seem quite cute and playful and i prefer the younger age as generally they have softer and nicer skin plus perkier attributes and i suppose partially thats due to less no. of them having had babies already?

But the issue with BGs is that after the BF and the lady drinks and the constant asking for LDs or for me to keep drinking...it all starts adding up. In the end it works out to quite a bit for not much time. None of them have stayed as long as the last time i was here where they used to stay till like 3pm or so, now they seem to leave pretty quickly in the morning.

What are the tricks and tips you guys have? Am i too soft?

I feel bad not buying them drinks when they ask, and when they just lie there, i feel bad having to ask them to do things or to move here or do that especially when they just dont seem interested as they seem tired or something. I think i just am not comfortable feeling like i am pushing someone into kissing or anything like that but it seems like if i dont insist then nothing much happens. Again the last time especially with FLs, it seemed to be quite different from this time....

Saw some really nice girls in the bars but they just did not seem interested at all. Are a lot of the young girls not interested / arent after money and its only the older ones as they have more responsibilities??

I am thinking of trying some of the bigger bars like tai pan or tiger now, are they free entry? What are the prices of girls like in there? At least no BFs right?

I went into Suzy Wong, definitely the quality seemed pretty good but i wasnt sure what would happen once they came home with you. there seems to be a few SWs? there was a playground and another one. The one i went into had these girls on seforum.xxxe that whack you with rubbery sticks.

Might go into christins today as its been a year since i had the christins experience. Do you guys always tip the ladies if they ask for one when they are seeing you out? I hate that part as its already quite pricey compared to other girls and then having to tip as well...?

Notice both ATMs I have withdrawn money from so far have a 150baht charge, is that normal?

I tried soi kepsap, nice place, definitely some massage options there and do seem a bit cheaper. Also some nice restaurants, although not sure where the best value places are for restaurants. Sometimes i feel like i am still paying too much for food considering it should be thai prices. I am not sure if i should eat the seafood all the time (thats what i normally eat) or if i should be eating more of the "traditional" thai menu items as that may be more Thai and hence something that i cant experience back home...

I havent even had the option to try the video camera out yet as both the BGs i brought home,were already a bit of work to get things done, i was worried they would be impossible to convince....

I wouldn't worry about getting bored. Eight days is a short time to stay in Patong. Just barely enough to explore the town a little and maybe get in a couple boat trips out to the islands. I was there for two weeks back in April, and still had plenty of things to do.

I still feel like I barely scratched the surface while exploring all the night has to offer. As mentioned, MTB is a good place to start. Cristin's is a bit on the pricey side, but perhaps worth a trip just to see what it's about. Better still, go a little further around the corner to Soi Kepsap, and the massage girls will come to you. Just try to pick only one!

If you find one particular girl you like, you may be able to enjoy her company for a little less than the usual 2k per night. If you don't drink like a fish, you'll also save some baht. Sample the street food, too. It's amazingly good and cheap.

Aside from the obvious nightlife, there's also plenty to do during the daytime (if you can manage to be up early enough). If you like the water, try snorkeling. There are a couple spots in the Phi Phi islands that are great, with lots of sea life and things to see close to the surface. It's easy to learn even if you haven't done it before. All 4 Diving on Sawadirak is a good place to get started with recommendations for tours and equipment.

I am going in mid october.

Where is Soi Kepsap? I have been snorkelling the last few times i went there, so am not sure i will do it this time as well, but i might be intrigued to try out the caves or something. Apparently a lot of spiders and large insects can be found. Saying that getting up early in the morning doesnt sound very appealing when i hope to be busy in the nights .

Street food sounds interesting, most of the time i always ate in restaurants, i dont think i have ever sampled anything but the restaurants and some of them were a bit pricey. At least i dont plan on drinking too much but i do feel pressured to drink while i am in the bars as the girls keep asking to have another.

Sorry, I shouldnt have given that impression. I am having fun for the most part, just have been a bit disappointed with a couple of experiences is all, plus i sort of get very sensitive to rejection especially for things like skin colour and especially when it feels like i am already paying for it anyway . but besides that, its still great. I love phuket and thailand. The people are so so friendly, restaurants are yummy and nice albeit you have to be careful not to go to the overpriced places. The hotel staff are always very friendly and the rooms are so clean and nice.

But i guess i came mainly for the girls and hence just had a lot of queries in the hope that i can get the most out of those experiences as well as enjoy all the other aspects of phuket. I came by myself, so not really able to enjoy restaurants and more importantly the tours hence why i probably wont go on any tours or trips out as would rather do that with friends or a girlfriend. I am coming back in jan most likely, with some friends this time, so i can definitely do those things then.

Way back in the day, (about 20yrs ago) when i last visited phuket a fella could find himself a pretty young thing and enjoy all the tours and travel and restuarants he wanted, and she would be more than happy to provide enthuisastic company day and night for as long as you paid her way. I think the term back then was "long haired dictionary" because she would also act as your translator and negotiator for any transactions when needed.

I hope it hasnt changed too much, 19 sleeps to go! woohoo

Sorry to hear about some of the negative experiences. If you wanna go for FLs, try Tiger Disco or Hollywood (small entry charge at Tiger but includes a drink). The girls at Christins do expect a tip, some can be a little nasty if they think it isn't large enough, and yes the 150 Bt ATM fee is standard, happy hunting.

Ok sounds good, i might try that. Generally from my past experiences I do find christins quite pricey but good for the soapy parts plus in general it seems more worthwhile to get a LT girl from a bar for an overnighter where you can have a few sessions rather than paying half of the amount for only 1 session at a massage place. In general the massage places seems to charge more than 1000baht right for any kind of extra services.

Good news, went to Tai pan last night, had a good time. Only was there for about an hour before it shut. But on the way back, a girl jumped onto my back and asked me to carry her out of tai pan and home....

Anyway she is still with me as we speak, napping away and definitely was really sweet and nice about everything. Great experience, never once brought up money yet and was laughing and having a good time through it all. Maybe FLs are more like that and BGs are expected by bar owners to bring money in so are under more pressure?
