I did a little research for another thread, but consider the information i have learned here too valuable not to start a new thread.
I am sure that there are a great many hobbiests out there who's marriages are on the rocks, and heading towards divorce court.
Or maybe others who are retiring and making that one commitment to that one special woman.
Congratualtions to all of you.
But, you may be interested in reading the plain and simple english version of ontario's divorce laws.

Read page 38, if not everything.
I always thought that you leave a marriage with what you came into it with, and that anything that was purchased during the relationship is split 50 50.
There would appear to be many exceptions to this rule.
The biggest being the family home, which is split 50 50 regardless..
