Sports massage course

Hi all,
Wondering is anyone has signed up for a sports massage course for September. Would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of.
I am trying to get a jump and read up on Mel Cash book before course starts.
Also have book on clinical massage which I am finding very good.

Hi Coolcyclist and SoniaL,

I'm starting my Sports and Remedial Massage course at the end of August. I'd be more than happy to chip in with ideas and the like!

I read one of the Mel Cash books and another one by ....... (I'm useless with names) the guy that is the principle of Northern Institute of Massage - Eddie Caldwell (I think).

I'm looking forward to this!!

Hi again,
Thanks for all the replies. It is good to know there will be a small group of us studying the same thing at the same time.
In addition to the Cash book I am going through a book on Clinical massage which is very interesting. I am working with a massage therapist who is recovering from a severe illness and am doing PIR on her psoas so I started to really get in to it.
Wish I had more knowledge now than just my Swedish massage course.
But every journey starts with a small step....

hi i have just completed the sports massage course, i am waiting on my results! I totally recommend that you try and learn your muscles and the orgins and insertions and actions. They will be metioned in the mel cash book. we were ajbout 20 of the muscles in the exam and in the oral exam as well. I really enjoyed the course be prepared to do home study

Thanks for thoughts. Thought it would help if I didn't just ignore the books over the summer. Besides I am trying to build my practice and know it will get more difficult once the course starts. Then it will be working my day job, massaging at night, going to class and studying. I tell myself just get through this next year and it will be OK.
