I am new to the board as well, but I have been lurking for quite a while.
I for one will accept Micron's apology at face value. The internet, message-boards, chatrooms, email all have a unique protocol and unwritten rules-of-conduct guide. The rules are frequently broken as much as they are followed.
Micron seems to be aware of his mistake and he publically said so. Hats off to you brother.
Now on to the spa - I think having an active owner who wants to provide quality girls, a quality atmosphere (spa), and ensure good service is a great thing. Add in competitive pricing - get some decent looking girls and I WILL come back to your spa. I used to be a regular (ahh the days of Chantal) -
I warn you however, just because you want and will accept feedback - that in itself is NOT unique. I make it a point in trying to meet owners, and I frequently give feedback on my experiences. You are in a competetive area - and there is lots to choose from - spas with great owners, happy wonderful girls who provide top notch service.
I WILL come in for a visit - the MPA's on the menu should have the qualifications and looks to play ball in this league - OR - your pricing should reflect the difference. At times I don't mind paying for the B-Team if I only have to pay B-Team prices. Sometimes I only have a B-team budget. I laugh at girls on the C or D team who work at Spas and expect "A team" fees. The owners are misguided if they think they can build a business this way.
If I do come for a visit to your spa -
- I expect to be greeted warmly and cordially regardless if its a guy or a girl. Preferably and whats normal in the business is the girls look after this sort of thing.
- PLEASE consider the following points as "suggestions" on how you might run your business....
Suggestion (A) Train the girls/person that greets the customer to offer everyone that is on the menu.
Nothing is more ridiculous or a turn-off than having an MPA assuming I like HER, her attitude, the ambiance of the place, and that I AM GOING TO STAY. At this point I am a person reading a menu - I haven't decided if I am going to stay and eat. I want to SEE who is on the menu. If I decide NOT to stay - I EXPECT courtesy and I a nice cordial friendly attitude - I dont want a scowl or a frown or a BAD attitude. I am the customer I came to your establishment genuinely ready to pay some serious dough for a particular service.
Something like the following would be great...
"Ooh I am sorry your not staying, did you have something in mind that you were looking for" - At this point after some dialog I might find that what I am looking for is presently in another room with a customer OR coming on the next shift. The person should be able to give an accurate description "Nancy is presently in session - she is 22, a blonde with a petite figure". Better yet consider the photo-book AKA (HFH) style. If you go the description route it should be accurate. example: Monique will be here at 5:00 she is south-east asian with a medium build and is 32 years old. Yes I want age, yes I want to know ethnicity, and yes I NEED to know what their body shape is. Check out your competitors they ALL do this in SPADES. (Utopia, Allure, HFH). Even if you dont go the high-end route - customers want choices - customers want courtesy and friendly attitude whether they decide to stay or NOT ! After all they came to do business with you - they risk hard earned dollars - if they came through your door and left it is YOU sir or YOUR staff that disapointed them. Very few people "window shop" in this industry" - come in with no intention of purchasing.
(B) TIME the Girls in the rooms !
BEING Short Timed is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable unless there are extenuating circumstances - I believe there is justification for a girl to put her safety 1st. Very rarely is there another good reason. The odd time the customer may have a pressing committment and leave early. If you see your customer coming out of the room early - it is YOUR JOB SIR - to find out if everything went ok and inquire why he didnt stay the full time. WHAT a marvelous concept. I once had the owner of a resteraunt come ask me "Why did I leave so much food on my plate" - I hadnt even complained - he wanted to know why - to ensure I was satisfied. Same concept should apply here.
(C) Tell the girls NOT to rip customers off!
- It shouldnt matter if they are a newbie or a seasoned vet - extras should be priced accordingly. I dont care if every girl charges the same or slightly different. Its a free-enterprise world and this is where your "salesman" earns their commission. She shouldnt take advantage, she should offer what she is comfortable with at the industry norm price - or close to it.
I sincerely look forward to meeting you sir and re-visiting the Spa.
