Gotta throw in my two cents on this one. Been a TJ regular for over a dozen years now and I have never done a BG, only SGs. Now I am sure there are mongers out there who are the opposite and to each his own. As we all know, some of the BG's in TJ are Playboy magazine material. I was there earlier this month at the Hong Kong and saw a smokin' hot blonde in black fishnets, black thong and a black corset. Looked like she stepped right out a Penthouse centerfold. Why didn't I jump her? Because I had an appointment with Gabby, one of my regulars who works right outside of the HK (always wears turquoise/huge 38 DD's) and she let me have her for 30 min for $60 (full service/multi-positions). It was my birthday and I been nailing her since she was 18 back in 2003. She always gives me a GFE and sucks like a porn actress. I suppose one of these days I will try a BG, but I have heard more negative stories about BG's than I have positive ones ($5 upselling ROBS, clock-watchers, starfishes, etc.). True, these negative stories also apply to SGs, but since SGs have to rely more on repeat clients than BGs, it appears to me that SGs have to try harder to please their customers.

Price is also a factor. I can fuck 2 BGs or 3 SGs for the same amount of money.

As for the roach motels, the rooms have greatly improved in the past 4-5 years, since the area has been cleaned up (the government now sees how important American mongering dollars are in La Zona) The hotel Gabby works out of is OK, has porn movies on the TV and a clean (by TJ street mongering standards) bathroom with a hot/cold shower...

I don't know if there is only one right way to monger, but I definitely feel there are wrong ways to monger, and if your not careful you could land in jail( mongering in the US) or you could get hurt, and more than possibly get robbed or cheated by not following a few precautions we talked about many times on this forum. I'll go into some at another time.

Now if your talking about personal tastes, SG's BG.s MP's or escorts, then of course our taste vary, along with how much we want to spend, so really it's not good to get into these debates which are better, SGs vs BG, or BGs vs Escorts, but I got to tell you I sometimes wonder about somebody's taste in Mexican women, when really you could just about have your pick who you want to fuck in TJ, and yet you picked her? Just stating my preference and why, which I thought was the theme of this thread.

I would never dispute that GFE initial sessions are more easily obtained from escorts - that is often the basis for why you have that added-on expense and management level.
But I prefer to manage my own arrangements with putas - and am more than willing to do that with initial (less than GFE) sessions that run from $9 to $27 before tip as we get comfortable with each other and see how things can progress.
Personally I prefer to see the objects of my desire in person and even sometimes in good lighting.

Some SGs give poor service. It's easy simply to not repeat with them.
Some provide excellent service (even GFE as defined by DFK & BBBJ's)
and to find and repeat with them is one of the great mongering joys and rewards.

If it works for you that's great. I'm a firm believer that there is no right or wrong way to monger--just satisfied and unsatisfied mongers.

As for me, I like GFE sessions and TLNs in places like La Mansion. These are things I can't get SGs to provide. (But I'm all ears if somebody has a magic forumla.)

I have a strong preference for street girls, but I certainly do bar girls also when in TJ.

Since both of these kinds of sex workers are women, they have the same ability to satisfy their customers.

I prefer the generally lower rates that most SGs accept.

I targeted this group of providers from the earliest days of my mongering adventures. And with the help of these boards (like Clubhombre - which I first read when I entered this hobby) I learned valuable information that helped me better enjoy this class of ho.

I learned how to negotiate with SGs, so I could get what I wanted, at prices I wanted to pay.
I'm not much of a drinker, so hanging in TJ bars for endless hours was never a big part of what I was seeking in TJ.

The gross SG hotels were definitely a problemo for me, but I generally found ways to work around that by bringing in my own clean sheet for the session or renting a room at a SG friendly hotel and getting the basic environment set up on my own.

In all, I've generally found the SGs to be more direct, thinner and younger (but not too young) than their bar girl counterparts. And that's my preference.

It all depends on what you want. For price pick a SG. For quality pick a BG (or an escort if you want a guaranteed GFE). I seldom do SGs as I like quality sessions.

A session with a SG will last about 15 minutes. It will probably be in one of worst hotels in the ZN. You won't get DFK, DATY, BBBJ, etc. There will probably be an upsell to even get her to take off all her clothes. Not my idea of good sex--but it will be cheaper than seeing a BG or escort.
