The business is the second of its kind in the same area to be closed since the beginning of the year.
AUSTIN, Texas — A massage parlor in North Austin has been closed by the Office of the Texas Attorney General (AG) following a lawsuit filed after an investigation revealed that illicit sexual activity had been happening at the business.
The lawsuit filed in Williamson County says that Sun Spa, located on Pond Springs Road, was operating an illicit massage business, with evidence discovered after an investigation conducted by the AG's office's Human Trafficking Unit.
The business is the second massage business to close on the same road this year, after the AG's office closed Essence Spa in February.
The AG's office also says it estimates that there are 1,000 illicit massage businesses, which are businesses that sell commercial sex under the guise of massage services, operating throughout Texas.
