Hey folks,

Just been reading mlays thread about NEE and I think theres a very clear lesson to be learnt and thats Just Have Fun! Dont go all serious, dont start thinking it could be love, just think how lucky youve been for a few days, smile to yourself and then find yaself another!

Im sure there are happy endings to these tales of love, but lets face it, theres not many! I met a really nice BG called Em on my last trip, she refused to take any money, and we just stayed up all night chatting on the balcony, the next day she spent the day with me on the beach....things were going great - but still I left Phuket to continue my travels. Yeah it could have been love, yeah it could have lasted, but **** it - it was fun, it made me smile, and Ill allways look back on those few days with a mile wide grin.

On a seperate note, whilst I was with Em my m8s hooked up with two 'nice' thai girls (freelancers I think), NO money was mentioned and they had a really good laff, ended up shagging, and all was good....until the morning when they demanded 4000B each.... I defended the boys saying it was there first time in LOS etc and they didnt realise and the girls said if they didnt pay they would call the police... I held my ground for a bit, trying to win them over but in the end settled the situation with 1500B each.... I have allways wondered tho - What would the police have done? Would the girls have called them? Is not paying a freelancer a really bad thing?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't think it's a good idea not to pay a freelancer or a bargirl. Freelancers as bargirls do that for money. By the fact that you bring her back home you accept the idea that you will have to pay for her services. If she agrees to follow you, she is expected to be paid the usual fare unless you have negociated the price before.
Of course if the girl is trying to rip you off, just give her the "regular" fare. If she calls the police, what will happen do you think? Let me tell you a story that happened to me a few years ago:
In 2000, I spent my whole holidays with the same girl and had a very wonderful time. I saw her another time 3 months later. The next year, I came back to see her but her attitude changed quite alot. The other girls who worked in the same bar and were jealous told me a lot of things about her, her foreign boyfriends and the abortion she performed recently.
It was obvious in her behavious that she didn't like me anymore and was not satisfied by the amout of money I gave her every morning. One day, we went to Phuket town. She asked me to buy her gold chain which was worth 11000 B; I had only 2000 B with me so I said it was not possible. She drove crazy and threatened me to go to the police... what we did as I wanted to see how far she can go. My mind was clear: I did nothing wrong: I paid for her services the previous night. The only think that I did was refuse to offer her a gold chain.... Ok, let's play to her game. So we arrived at the police station where we went driven to the tourist police department. She began to speak in Thai with the officer who asked me some questions like "do you know that lady", "does she work in a bar","where does she work", ... She claimed that she didn't knew me, that it was our first encounter, that I was an occasional customer the previous night and that I haven't paid her. I told the officer that it was false: I had spent already 7 weeks with her in 3 trips and I showed him pictures of her I had in my wallet.
What was the reaction of the police officer:
To her: Miss, prostitution is not allowed in Thailand! You cannot ask mister for money.
To me: Mister, welcome to Thailand. Finished !
Needless to say that the girl left the place furious. I wanted to laugh but I just thanked the officer with a big smile and left too. I never went back with that girl after that.
I was not proud to have to go to the police station but I knew that I was not taking any risks as I did nothing wrong. Unless the girl knows the officer, I think the farang will always be the winner.
Once again, it's not a reason not to pay a girl for her services.

Yeah I thought that might be the case..... the guys I was travelling with were all new to this, and we'd spent the previous night in bangkok where they were getting 'freebies' all night in a particularly racy go go bar on Soi Cowboy, so I think they just assumed the girls were also free! newbies huh?

I guess I was just worried about the TG's having the upper hand being able to speak Thai - but then I know how much the Thai Toursit police stick up for the tourist.

Cant wait to get back there in two weeks! And definately the thing exciting me the most is walking back in the legendary Shark Club (all be it under a new name!) - any ideas what the place is like now?

I think Bobby's dead right. Last time I was in Patong I got talking to a waitress in one of the 'ordinary' bars. We went out for a beer together after she finished work then back to my hotel...and we went at it all night. It was truly wonderful. All the time I kept asking myself if she was a regular freelancer I couldn't quite figure her out. She wasn't shy (at all!!!) but she didn't dress or act tarty in any way - in fact she was probably the only pretty Thai girl in the whole of Bangla Road who wore a skirt that went well past her knees!

Anyway, when we parted company after lunch next day I gave her some money, the same standard amount I would have given a BG, even though she'd never once mentioned it or dropped any kind of hint at all. She looked surprised - which could have been an act to flatter me, of course - but obviously, she was happy to take it.

So give them the money, I say. It's not as if it's a fortune by our standards, and whether they're BG's or not, they're not rich and they're sure to have use for it.

That kind of things happen sometimes. This is Thailand!
It happend to me a couples of times in my 9 trips with both bargirls and waitress but never with a freelancer (at least till now)

guys dont for one second kid your self the is no such thing as a freebie.
the are regulars ,the are cheaper ladies (or lady boys )
but the is no such thing as free,remember its a job plain and simple.After all if you saw these ladies walking down your own street how many would seriously give any of us a second look . i know this sounds harsh but like Paddy says these people are very poor in relation to western standards,
look at it from their pont of view YOU have paid to fly half way across the world which would cost more than most ordinary Thais earn in a year,you then take full advaneforum.xxxe of all that Thailand has to offer. All for what to us small amount .But they have to support familes and homes. so dont be tight (and i do not mean throw it about like a rich b*****d)but it is after all said and done it`s a small amount for a nights /afternoon fun and throlic`s

Ive been working away for a week and just got back. It takes some time to read all the posts!

Glad to hear that R3apps and a few others have had a good time.
For the people who have e-mailed me, I will send you some of the filth I have as soon as I can. My stock of photos needs topping up, so I need a trip out there. Sooner the better...........

Anyway, I have heard so many stories of people getting ripped off, or having bother with girls, so one thing i ALWAYS do is negotiate price, time, and what you want from them BEFORE you take them out the bar. If they dont do it, they are out.

Once everything has been negotiated and they have said yes, then I call that the 'Money Shot'.

I'm newbie here, but I'm reading regularly the posts of this board since two years.
I was there on ferbruary 2002. (first and only trip until now) It was no the main target to get girls for me in patong. I don't planned anything. I was really shocked in the first time I walked down bangla road by day. But in the first night things changed. I had one girl in the first night. After this night I took this girl for two other nights. She topped everything I knew until this time. Just wonderful.

I took just this girl. But I'm asking me often one question because this girl never wantet money or anything. Just hard, dirty and longtime sex.

Is this normal in patong? That there are many girls that don't ask for money?
