You have to keep in mind that these guys who don't look like they have money can be seen like easy bait and will be on the chicas radar. These are the guys that will overspend because they try to impress. I think that when chicas look across the room they try to figure out who looks pretty stupid. Yeah the guys who look like they have money will get early attention but if the greenies are not coming out chicas won't care how big your bank account is. Besides for as poor as a guy looks he probably has enough for one round and chicas want it.

We probably have run into each other but who knows. A funny story about wearing old clothes in La Zona. I was standing with my buddies in La Revolucion. I began to crack up because my buddy was wearing a really old, faded sweater that had holes everywhere. I hadn't noticed it until I got a good look at him. My other buddy and me also had holes in our shirts but not like the other guy. We were all laughing at each other and told my buddy with the sweater he had gone too far LOL! I wonder if Calderon passed by and said "WTF am I doing to my people" LOL!

PS I would love to answer the "respect is earned" comment I made to Sampsonrico but I have to go somewhere. Don't worry guys I'm not
preparing for a flame war or that sort of thing. I think it will be good though.

I don't think I am special that the chicas buzzs around me.... they do it because they think I have money.... and the fact you mention they buzz around guys who may and may not have money is comical.... they are not there for fun; they are working girls and working girls need money....

You and I probably ran into eachother on more than a few occations without know eachother.... I am also the guy who wear old cloths that I wouldn't even wear around the house alone.....

Oh man you're killing me with what you're saying. You are talking about how chicas buzz around you as if you're the only one they do it to and as if you're special. Believe me they do it to guys that have money and don't have money. I hate to bring it up but this is the kind of mentality that got you into trouble with chicas. Don't mean to criticize you.

And believe me I don't dress comfortably in La Zona. I wear cheap ass clothes that I can't wait to take off when I get home. I also don't understand how you can say that a someone in La Zona is going to be honest with you. It's actually funny, honest guys in La Zona. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mexicans told you they were Mexican American. It's hard to say for sure who is Mexican and who's Mexican American so it's questionable that most guys in HK are Mexicans. And that's without counting the other guys and other Latinos. I guess we'll agree to disagree on this all day long.

Tropical is good. I am a daytimer and I never have trouble finding attractive gals in the afternoon early evening. I really like Chavelas, too. As I have gotten older and wiser, I am now tending to go to local bars. AB was cool for me about 7, 8 or even 10 years ago, but now it just doesn't do it for me. I like HK for the show factor. I don't mind going in for a couple beers to watch the girls dance. I have never attempted to chat up a gal in there, however. I am definitely a budget monger, but I feel because of the frequency of my visits, I have a nice group of SGs who I always go to, and they give me excellent service because they know I will be a repeat offender. The most recent times I have gone with gals from the bars it has been Tropical and Chavelas. I was able to get BBBJ and that is huge for me. I really hate CBJ, although if that is all that is on the table, I won't turn it down.

Mexican Americans may pretend to be Mexican Nationals with other Mexicans, but they tend to me honest with me.... besides I can tell the difference between the two Mexicans.... Mexican Americans like yourself tends to dress confortably whereas the other tends to wear fake Abercrombie and Fetch cloths and skin tight jeans.... believe me, I can guess right most of the times....

Also, Americans like "yours truly" tends to stand out more in HK because we sit in the center seats and always have girls buzzing around us; therefore there seems to be more of us than actual. Most Mexicans tends to sit back and watch and thus don't stand out, and girls leave them alone because they don't have lots of money....

Amercians only take on a small part, espcially now with the crimes and economy reasons, there are even less of us down there.

Finaly thought. I work in a place where they are about 50% Mexican Americans and they tend to avoid Mexico; they like to like to dress up and go to night clubs and trying to hit on those ugly fat American women.... therefore, guys like yourself is really the minority there.....

Street clothes and jeans? That's too much clothes. I prefer chicas with less clothes. No clothes the better LOL! And to answer the thread I really like Las Chavelas. For me is a nice place to relax. Reminds me of a bar I love over here so maybe I'm a bit bias.

This is where I disagree with you. I think what's going on in HK is what's going on in fichera bars in LA. In LA the fichera bars are now frequented more and more by the second generation. Pretty much kicking out the Mexicans. You might see a latino in HK and say maybe he's a local but as soon as he takes out dollars the probability of him being a Mexican American is now pretty high. I know you probably have asked these guys where they are from. But from experience we'll tell you we're from our parent's state or what have you. And another reason is to avoid problems. I tell everyone in La Zona I was born somewhere in Mexico. By telling them that the probability of them thinking I have money goes down. They'll leave me alone which is fine by me.

The score is settled: Tropical now has the best looking chicas.... I was there last night and boy are they hot.... they wear street cloths, jeans and tops and are so sexy.... but 1/3 of them don't even go upstairs....

Also, the maseras in Malqueridas now have new school girl uniform.... very sexy.... I go there just to look at the maseras.....

You know what, most of the customers in HK are Mexican Natinals instead of Americans. So I don't know what you mean by "whitney is stupid".... I don't kike HK because they push for drinks too hard (they have too many maseros who pay the bar $40 a day to work there), and I don't like the high milage girls they have.... other than those two, it is a fun atomsphere.... I have never been short changed there....

I love the smaller bars like Malqueridas because they always have fresh girls.... like I said, it is like a AAA team.... the good ones either gets called up to the show or get demoted to the A or AA bars.... so, always fresh girls.... and the maseras whith school girl uniforms.... if you guys read my posts, you should know how I feel about girls in uniforms.... hehe....

I like their bars, but not HK...they rip off people daily and it is like a glorified US strip club. I hate the way the meseros push, push, push and then short change you.

An edican is a model. What they have done is taken prostitutes from the other side of town and put a sash on them and the American's try to get them to the room. It is a big scam as they have been going to the room before and then the Americans make offers higher than the other chicas demand thinking they are some special girl.

There beer is way overpriced as well. $40 in there, when I can get a bucket for $12 to $15 in other bars.

There motto is "whitey is stupid" and he will pay.

Sampson: why do you have this strong hatred towards Hk and all HK owner establishments. They provide the clients with what they need and they are very sucessful at it. They adapt towards customer's needs, unlike Chicaga Club who uses the field of dreams approach "we built it and they'll come". Balony.

Malquierida has some young hot chicks there. I like it a lot...

Ok, the meseras in Malquerida are working girls. They were working before they made the move to those uniforms. A long time ago, the bars realized that the clients get stupid over thinking girls are "different" if they are a mesera or a edecan. Actually many of the HK edicans are putas from La Mesa, but the clients will pay more because they are wearing a sash....it works well for the chicas.

Las Chavelas has always been Las Chavelas. The part on the alley side was Miami for years but they took Miami out after the remodel. Miami is opening again on Monday and will be in the old La Botana spot and will be a VIP section of HK...hate that as La Botana was once a very fun bar and now HK will ruin it like they do everything else.

The ownership group owns HK, Las Chavelas, Tropical Bar, Malquierida, Delicias, La Tropa, Siete de Copas, Titanic (currently closed), and La Cueva de Peludo.

What makes Malquierida great is it is the after hours club for chicas in the other clubs. La Valentina Bar was once the hot spot and is still ok. Unlike HK, their beer prices are in line with the rest of the Zona. It is the most fun when they have a rock band in the evenings. This was once an every night occurrence, but I believe only a few nights a week. Without the band, I will choose La Valentina for my late night hang out.

Gents: I want to start a thread discussing the varios TJ bars other than the big two: HK and AB.

Malqueridas: I stumbled across this bar about a month ago and it is great. It is owned by the same owner as HK and is minor league of HK. The girls and young and low milage, but a tad fat if you ask me. The best part of it is that the servers are also chicas wearing school girl uniforms. Once a while they would dance on bar counters too and have drinks with customers. The girl servers would also grab girls hands and escort them to customers. Just for kicks, I asked a girl server to get me another server and she did. It is funny to see one waitress getting another. Once I decided to buy her a drink, she became a working girl and the other waitress happily went to get her collegue a lady drink. What a place! I asked her if she goes upstairs and she politely declined. She was very shy and said drinks are as far as she’ll go.
The other girls, the working girls are very young. It is the minor leagues before they get a call to the show. I was very impressed and I suggest that you give it a try. It has a very relax atmosphere when compared to HK; like a minor league ball park; you get the same game, but beers and dogs are ½ price…

Tropical: Other establishment owner by the same person that owns HK. Once you walk through the place there’s a long line of chairs where the girls sit. You get to window shop as you walk in to order a beer. I was surprised to see the amount of pretty girls there… wow. Their theme is a bit different than HK and Malqueridas. They don’t have a lot of strip shows, and most of the times it is dancing, like club dancing. A lot of Ranchera dances goes on there. That is the Mexican country dance. Very nice, I wish I knew this dance.
The atmosphere is once again very laid back and you can sit there all night and not get bothered or you can dance the night away with every girl without ever getting rejected.

Chevelas: a cowboy bar next to HK. It used to be called Miami Bar. The decorations are nice and the girls are nice. But I sense a bit of pressure from the waiters and the girls. But overall, a nice place.
