Travelling to Phuket

Hey all, I'm travelling to Phuket, in towards the end of June. Was wondering what some of the good things to see and do were. Like were do other young tourists travel to when there over there? (Clubs, Pubs).
I'm staying in Patong so whats good there, is it far to travel to Phuket city for a night out on the town.

What do people recomed I do while i'm over there and everything?

Phuket Town is 20 minutes away Ben.....

Best nightclubs according to taste include Dragon, tai pan, baya beach, safari + banana ........suggest you do a search on these here

100's of good bars including MTB the host of this sight and a great + friendly bar run by Nicke + Ead where you can meet many board memebers and also Love Bar + Champagne which are owned by fellow BM's...........

Just walk down Bangla rd............it won't take long and I'm sure you will find plenty of places you want to have a drink!!!!!!

Many things you can do depending on what you are looking for be ot night or daytime activities.

If its nightlife then head for Bangla road and work your way around from there!

during the daytime there's lots you can do. you can book daytrips to nearby islands like koh raja, phiphi-islands or the similan island...great places for snorkeling and relaxing. i can also recomend that you hire a taxi or tuktuk for an island round-trip...lots of interesting places to discover... and you'll have to check out christins!!!

Welcome Ben, unless you are staying a long time in Patong, I doubt if you will want to go to Phuket Town. The nightlife of Phuket Island is best in Patong.

Yea, this will be my first time travelling to Phuket. I'm there for 6 days and then fly out for 4 days in bangkok.
We want to try lots of the things that you've mentioned. Bungee-jumping, scuba diving, maybe visit some islands, go to the shooting range,motorbiking, relaxing, sunbaking, massageselephant tracking, canoeing. Wheres the best places to book these things?
What ATVing? What u mean boxing? (Fights)? Boombooming? Whats Christins?

Whats the tourist atmosphere like during late June? Are there lots of young 20s, or 18 -25's there during the time, where are they likely to be? (Of course, u gotta get to know the locals, they can show u the stuff others don't get to see :ytounge: ).

Are the cultural things worth seeing? Like traditional dances??

Of course were gonna go hard everynight. Though what are some good cheap restraunts? Or is it better to just walk along and eat?

Settle down tiger. Only 6 days in Phuket, you'll need a holiday when you get back after all that. It is a very well know fact that the best laid plans are never followed after you arrive in LOS. You'll learn why once you arrive.

ATV is All Terrain Vehicle. Watching Thai boxing. Christins is a massage place. All this is very well explained on here, suggest that you have abit of search and read through the board here.



Well, thats not quite what was meant, again you'll learn more when you eventually arrive.

As steve says, you can make all the plans you want but you will get out here, drink until 5am, get out of bed around 1/2pm and then get back on the beer, i have been 6 times now and i have stopped kidding myself that i am going to do anything on the list that i made before i came the first time.

I did manage the quad biking with bacardi73 and terry, this was a lot of fun so i reccommend you make some time for this, a search will tell you where to find it as i cant remember where it was

by the way the fishing is pretty good,but the only thing is that it mostly stops june-sept due to high seas.

to be honest i doubt you will do much sightseeing when you get there its just adult disneyland. the nightlife is just awsome but the clubs arent really that good in fact they are quite poor. best bet i think is have a laugh around bangla and patong try karon as well earlier in the night quite good then get yourself to safari always found it better than anywhere else and usually goes to the wee hours. me and a few mates will be there from 24 june so can catch some of england winning the world cup as well!!!!!

as they say you have to be in it to win it but really the clubs arent good music wise compared to western standards especially english clubs. the music is old and not just not funky enough. what they do have in thier favour though is the massive amounts of women

Thanks all for the help with things to do while I'm over there. Probably gonna get a list together and arrive with it and see if we can do some of the things we want - obviously inbtweeen drinking and being passed out :blah:.
So if anyione can think of something that just has to be done whuiile over there let me know.

P.S. Any really good food stalls/restraunts that we should try? Should we bring alcohol duty free from bangkok? Or buy it over there?
