I recently noticed that Ace Wellness at Vic Park & McNicol has been rebranded as Victoria Spa. Has anyone been there since the change?

They announced here a change in ownership at Ace Wellness a couple of months ago. Maybe they just decided to change the name now. They also have an ad up on kijiji: Victoria SPA Proffesional Relaxation Massage | Massage Services | City of Toronto | Kijiji Classifieds

I miss the old Ace Wellness and the two nice Korean ladies who worked there in the pre "Victoria Spa" days.

One was very tan, very fit (a bit visibly muscular even), always very made-up and gave off a distinct FS vibe.

I had a better rapport with her co-worker, who dressed more like a saucy personal trainer with tight gym shorts - and seemed to be there practically all the time (or could be relatively quickly summoned there via text, once you got to know her).

I think her name was Sarah. Early 40s, maybe 5 feet 7 inches tall, slim but sturdy build.

Her English was excellent and she would pleasantly chatter away while putting her strong massage skills to use.

Too bad Ace Wellness couldn't have persisted and become an all-Korean semi-legit enclave.

Relative to a lot of other places, it was very, very clean and gave off a near RMT clinic feel in that respect.

I stopped by Victoria Spa this week, as I was in the area. I didn't intend to TOFTT, but just to get some quick recon.

Victoria Spa has some exterior signage posted around the very, very VERY quiet and small mall inside which it is located.

It's so quiet that I entered the mall and walked towards the spa, I could hear people conversing inside the little dim sum bakery that somehow survives this low traffic location.

I stepped into the spa. Past the front door, the first thing you see is a bunch of boxed knee braces on a shelf.

Perhaps left over from the previous Ace Wellness days. (Someone's idea of camouflaging what Victoria/Ace are all about, I guess.)

What was the Ace Wellness front desk area is now a separate waiting room with two plush chairs and a small sign asking people to wait to be greeted. (The chairs reminded me of the plush decor at Nature Spa, also off Victoria Park.)

You need to pass through a second door to get into the spa area itself.

After knocking on the second door, a slim, late 40 something Chinese woman of average height and weight, and dressed for date night (or maybe to go to the opera? -- with a blue short dress with a kind of bright red scarf draped on her shoulders) greeted me with a big theatrical smile.

Her hair was even very nicely styled, which you don't necessarily see all the time in the AMP scene. It was an almost elegant touch to her appearance. (Maybe she does some role play too?)

I asked "Who else is working?" and her smile brightened as she gestured to herself proudly and said "Just me."

Thanks to her clothing and styled hair and big smile, she gave off a genuine energy -- and I'm sure whatever she was going to offer after that second door would be energetically delivered. (This spot could no doubt do with some repeat regular customers here.)

I have been here once before in this spa's new era, just after the previous Ace Wellness went under new management; once laid out on the table, I was offered a very expansive menu by another older Chinese woman, who casually and slowly rubbed her breasts while carefully reciting the options.

The same beyond-semi-legit-norms vibe holds - just my feeling after this visit to Victoria.

Anyways, I did not partake on my latest visit and mumbled some excuse as I left.

Others may want to explore further.
