What do you charge for a reflexology.

Hi,

I've been doing reflexology for over 10 years and haven't changed my charges much over that time.

I went past a salon yesterday down the road from where I live in north London and saw the charge was £40 for 40 minutes that's a £1 a minute.

I'd like to know what you would charge for (a) mobile (b) home or clinic.

£25 here in Yorkshire ............. taking up an hour appointment at the salon which can stretch to 75 mins (that is how long I allow in the appointment diary).

I don't do mobile but I guess I would charge at least the same as at the salon

Hi ya

I charge £30 per hour. But you get a footbath with fresh lemons, massage up to the knees, and a combination of Western, Thai and Chinese Reflex. techniques. And the wonderful clinic I practise in (see the website below). I have 10 years experience and done lots of post-grad stuff. Worth every penny!

I charge £30 for 45 mins. However after they have been 6 times I reduce it to £25. Its a bit if an incentive to keep coming and it works.

I have a friend who works in and around Chelsea - she is a multi-tasking therapist, but I know that she charges £45 for 1 hour of reflexology in the clinic, and £55+mileage+congestion charge for mobile. She tries to keep mobile work to 10am-3pm as sitting in static traffic drives her nuts!

I charge £45 for first treatment which can be up to 90 minutes with consulation. I then charge £35 for subseqent treatments.

I'm in north London and also work out in Bucks.

Hi London Reflexologists,

This is most helpful and I will certainly review what I have been charging - I now realise that my charges are way below what the going rate is and I will have to review them. What I find is that the rich clients try to knock down my price - which is extremely reasonable (£30). Not for long though! I realise now that I need to do a thorough costing, taking into account all of my overheads.

hi i work in bridgend area in south wales, i charge £20 and if the client books 3 sessions they get them all for £50, but after reading the above charges i may have to review my prices, mind you i am always booked.

I used to charge 20 for Indian Head and £25 for reflexology, £25 for facials. Now after 2 years I charge £25 for IHM 45 mins, £30 reflexology 1 hour, maternity reflexology £30 1 hour, Baby massage £15 in the home and £5.00 per hour for classes, and facials £30 for approx 45 mins to an hour.

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm just starting out in practice and need to decide on my prices.

There are quite a few Reflexologists in my area (I knew this before training, but thought if I don't do it someone else will).
Anyway there seem to be two prices in my area, £30 for 1 hour and £35 for 1 hour (£45 1st consulation). Just outside my area there are reflexologists charging £25 for 1 hour.

I had planned to charge £35 at my premises (home) and £45 mobile (including travel time etc), but now wonder if I should also charge £30 at my premises and £40 mobile.

I know it will be hard to raise my prices once I have set them, should the other reflexologists raise their prices and if I offer any discounts it will also lower my hourly rate.

On my course we were taught to value our skills, charge accordingly and the customers will tend value the treatment.

So any suggestions as to what to charge greatfully recieved.

I attended my first homebirth the other day and as I wanted to witness it to prepare me for University in Sept as a midwife I did not charge the couple at all. I was there from 11.15pm until 7.30am but the experience was amazing. I was there in the capacity as reflexologist and birthing partner along with the husband. Helping out the midwife too. So in other circumstances where you may charge I have no idea really, you may need to discuss this with the individuals concerned up front before agreeing on anything and maybe get a little contract set up - i know that sounds all very 'formal' but just an idea, don't know really what to suggest. Just thinking out loud! Good idea? No? Not sure? Whether you charge a full amount or an hourly rate is entirely up to you but for my first i did if for free just for the experience.

Just knowing when to back down when you feel your client is not wanted to have her feet touched and then knowing when to approach is key.

I am coming round to the view that £40 for a home visit and £35 for home treatment is a reasonable charge and in line with other practitioners. I will do a bit of a survey of prices in local spas and see how much they are charging now.

When I worked as an aromatherapist and reflexologist at my local spa the clients were charged £45 for a reflexology - and I believe their prices have probably increased since then.

It is true about reviewing your prices that you need to set it at the right level at the outset - but heck our overheads go up each year - the list is endless - insurance, heat and light, petrol you name it.

Anyone reading from Ireland??.....I would like to know what average charges are........last year I charged 25 euro per treatment and this year I charge 30 euro......my treatments last around an hour and 15 mins, I believe going rate is 40 euro, which is what we were told to charge by our teacher........but have seen up to 60 euro charged per treatment....I plan to slowly increase my prices each year until I am at the going rate.....but for old clients will not increase prices for them........

I feel as a newly qualified Reflexologist, this is my 2nd year.....I have to compete with more experienced therapists, so the only thing I can offer to make up for my lack of experience is lower prices......gradually as I build up my client base I will be on a par with others.......I have heard it mentioned a few times from other Reflexologists that i am doing wrong in charging less but I do not agree......

Just thought I would throw in a variable.

I hear Donna Air(head) pays £200 for reflexology in London. I wish she came to me. I would only charge £195.
