Usually you go a bar becuase you like the owner and the customers.. So its very personal as to whose company you enjoy..

I do a fair bit of my drinking up on Nanai.. Offshore bar, Beach House, P Bar etc.. All nice little places where you go for a drink and a banter not women.. Down it town I like Love and Bunny Ranch under Tiger and Tums for a late night stop after others have closed..

There is another point. Perhaps you would like a more up to date opinion on the matter rather then going off what was said months/weeks ago.To answer your question, at my favourite bars there are no hassles, cheap drinks and good times all round..

Not agree with you,bars have been discused up and down on this forum many times.
What is the best bar?
What do you want us to answer,what is your taste,do you like older/younger girls,do you go out early or late in the evening,is the price of the beer so very importent,what about the music ?

Best advice is go to Patong and se for yourself and make your own opinion
All bars have mostley the same drinking prices,girls are mostly nice or pushy
as you say in al the bars,and a good looking girl for you is maybee not the same for me

As others have pointed out it is a very subjective issue, and depends on each ones individual likes and dislikes. For instance nearly everyone raves about Dragon Disco/Agogo, well I dislike the place, see what I mean.

For me (now being a non owner), I would say I prefer bars where I can sit have a cold beer and a good old chat, and not get blasted away by loud music. I would say my favs would be in no particular order

I think that you should try the Absolut bar.
The prices are good and the girls looks fine but they are
not so on compared to other bar´s and the owners is
really fun and nice to sit and talk to

I prefer these bars.

MTB - grea staff and owner, can chat with some good BM there / BGs
are not so many

Love Bar - Again great owner and staff, things get a little more wild later on at night there, esp whe LivinLos is there

Tums - A good live band plays there. they have a billiard table and a foosball table :happyi: :happyi: :happyi:

I never pay attention to the prices ao I could not tell you. For all I know Nicke and Geir are robbing us blind :ytounge: :ytounge: J?K

As for Bono, hes a great guy:thumbsup:The kind of guy who has your back when in LOS. He like a bunch of us dont like to answer the same things over and over. Basically you have to try to put a little of the work into the forum to take something back out. I hope that sounds right. Anyways I hope that helps. Have a good trip when you go.

i may have taken it the wrong way with bono but tried a search and came up with nothing much thats why i posted it.how do you search i went to search threads typed in best bars and got nothing maybe i did it wrong. i havent posted much but appreciate you explination. hope to be going in august 2006 and look foward to meeting some of the bm,s will even buy bono a drink if he,s ther. need to understand we dont all know how to search properly though.

I prefer the smaller bar areas. As long as the Breezers are as cold as possible and the music is not that bloody hip hop shite then thats where I'll spend a lot of time. It just occured to me that all the times I've been to Soi Eric I've never sat at another bar other than Mai Thai !

In my view , BM's are probably a bit more willing to help out if they see that someone has put in a bit of effort for themselves. When the same questions keep turning up it has a "switch - off " effect and people don't bother to reply.

Also , and I'm not having a go at you , but to say that you "don't have time to search" seems strange , remember , it's you who wants the information . If you use the search function and come up with an "old thread" , post the link , that way people will know 2 things , 1. you have tried to do it for yourself , and 2. that perhaps the thread needs updating.

The Newbies area has a couple of tips to help people use the forum and to find the info they are after.

It depends on what I want at the moment.

I like MTB to meet Nicke and other BM's and get a bit drunk, I like Tai Pan for its music and the girls, I liked a bar in Soi Seapearl (don't remember the name but it was the first one on the right) because its friendly staff and it opened at midday, but I think it's closed now.... and sometimes I like some little bars from Kamala or Nai Harn because it is quieter.

As it has been said, it is very subjective from one to the other... I would say the best bar is the place where you feel good at the moment :cheers:
