When is it okay to introduce a female kitten to an adult male?

The female is an Abyssinian and the male is a Bengal. Neither one is fixed and I can't afford to do that anytime soon. Regardless, when is it okay to do an introduction? I don't want to have a case of domestic violence on my hands.

Is there no program in your area that will assist you in paying to spay/neuter your animals???
Find one as soon as possible. They often pay as much as 90% of the fee.

Call a veterinarian and ask.

You may not have domestic violence but you WILL have kittens. NOT a good idea.

How old are they? And who on earth gave you pedigreed unaltered kittens? That's VERY uncommon. Did you get TICA, CFA or ACFA papers for these cats? If so, how on earth did you afford the $600+ per kitten and yet you can't afford spaying/neutering? What about their shots?

Regardless of what breeds these kittens are or aren't if they're anything older than four months DO NOT allow them to interact. Kittens can reach sexual maturity as young as four months.

Kittens are FAR easier to introduce to eachother than adult cats. Just put them in separate rooms with their own food, water, litter. Put an old tshirt with one of them to get its scent on it, give this to the other kitten and then back again. Make sure they both are relaxed and seem eager to see what lies beyond the door and then introduce them.

If for whatever reason you cannot afford to get them fixed in the near future, then you will have to wait 18-24 month to do an introduction. Adult Bengals are large muscular cats where as Abyssinians are small and slim. Introducing them prior to her reaching sexual maturity would only lead to a case of domestic violence. Be wise.

Do not introduce them till both are neutered/spayed. Your male WILL breed the Aby. And what breeder is selling you kittens/cats w/o being spayed/neutered? No reputable breeder does this - especially to uncommon breed cats!

Added - if you can afford to be buying a Bengal and an Aby, then you certainly can afford neuter/spay. Both breeds start at $600+
