Why is the "keep chat history" option grayed out and enabled in this new yahoo...

...mail that I am stuck with? If I go to this new stupid mail and then go to messenger options, the "keep a history of my conversation" option is enabled and also grayed out and so I cannot disable this option. My wife has access to my email account and now she can easily check out what I have talked with other girls if I don't delete this stupid history every time. Ofcourse I can change the password but then I become suspicious.
Why is everything going so bad with Yahoo. First I get stuck with this new version of Mail which I don't want and I cannot change back to classic anymore, then they decide to keep a history of my conversations that I cannot disable. What were they THINKING?!?!?!

@Barkley Hound It stays grayed out here. I have been keeping this messenger options window open for 5 min now and it is still grayed out
Success, I believe it has something to to with yahoo messenger being open the same time you access this history option. I closed yahoo messenger and retried a couple of times to access the option and finally it was not grayed out anymore. I hope this lame option remains saved because I disabled it in the past and after a while it was active again.

When I go to mine "keep chat history" option is grayed out and enabled but after about 5 seconds it becomes enabled and the check disappears. I assume that during that time Yahoo is checking the capabilities of your computer to see if you can chat.

Once is becomes enabled you can remove the check if it remains.
