The following establishment were involved in LE raids from end of Sep to beginning of Oct.

16th Avenue health center

Fox Health Spa

Most chargers were the sorts of licenseing, locked door, no window type. Only 3 were involved attendent disrobing. No client were involved. Clients and MPAs Just be careful since this operation is on going...

Two attendants were charged with:
1. No licence
2. No licensed owner or operator present.

Sept. 24, 2003
1) Regent Spa, 160 East Beaver Creek #17, Richmond Hill
One operator charged with:
1. Permitting locked doors
2. Permitting an unlicensed attendant
3. Operator not licensed
4. Attendant not licensed
Three attendants charged with:
1. No licence

2) Tokyo Shiatsu, 155 East Beaver Creek #21, Richmond Hill
One attendant charged with:
1. No licence
3) Angel Health Spa, 165 East Beaver Creek #23, Richmond Hill
One operator charged with:
1. Permitting an unlicensed attendant
2. Permitting an unlicensed attendant
3. Permitting locked doors
4. Failing to provide windows in massage rooms
5. Failing to provide sign announcing that persons under 18 not permitted

I just saw this on ED as well (my link to York Region Ploice kept crapping out on me).

The IT and HFH ones are funny - Locked doors! How else are you supposed to protect the place and people in it from theft or worse, hell this is a cash business that you have to protect.

If what I heard is right, there was an undercover cop who revealed that he was such, and they then locked him into a MP room, and wouldn't let him out.

There's nothing overly bizarre there; big mistake, to be sure .

These cops are trained to take down these places....can't they spend there time doing more serious work like finding that missing chinese girl?? But when it comes to more serious work they're just not up to snuff to do the job...god dam useless.....waste of tax payers money....

Well, it's not the cops out there, they're just doing their jobs. They get pressure from up top. Some may have no problem with MP, some may even frequent them, but it's not up to them. Anyway, they are not exactly eliminating them for good, just keeping owners on their toes. And we all know that some businesses really ought to clean up their act like alot of those east bever creek places.

I'm quite surprised that there weren't some "common bawdy house" charges laid at EBC.

As far as I can tell, the only MP up there that wouldn't be vulnerable to such charges would be IT.

WhOis lists Body and Soul at 205 Riviera Dr #7, Markham. Our favourite B&S is not in Markham - is there another one?

This is a Markham spa located just off 14th Ave. west of the railway track and not far away from Alden Road.

This place is usually staffed by a tiny middle-age Russian lady and may be another MPA of African origin. The place is a so so with average talent and milage and no shower in the room.

A locked door was put in place at HFH right after all of the robberies were taking place and after one of my managers grabbed a guy trying to get into the cash register. It is written in the bylaw for there to be no locked doors within the place. This is where we have disagreements because I want the locked door for safety reasons. If they didn't have it written in the bylaw for there to be no locking doors within the establishment, places would lock the room doors. So in my situation.. it's being stuck between a rock and a hard place - I either keep the door locked, keep safe and take the ticket, or I unlock it and take my chances.

Just can't win for losin'

P.S. It isn't the criminal law that governs licensed body rub parlours.. it is the city bylaw.. Otherwise, the police enforce the rules written out in the bylaw for that particular city. Just thought I would remind everyone that since posters are mentioning the police having better things to do. But then there has always been wide confusion here concerning bylaw and criminal law.
