1,000 Baht bar fine!!!!

This happened last night to one of my customers.

A bar at the rear of Tiger tried charging a 1,000 Baht bar fine.h:

After 1am he wanted 500 Baht.He also charged 200 Baht for a San Mig Light as he said it was a lady drink!!:rules:

My guy left.He had told the BG he would see her later on.Five minutes later the BG appeared.She told the bar owner to shove the job where the sun don't shine.:bad:

This customer is not some newbie but has been coming to Thailand for more than 20 years.:zzz:

Times have changed in the beer bars, since I first went to Patong 7 yrs ago. In those days, it was rare that any girl was salaried in a beer bar. But at the gogos, it was common practice, even then, that the girls got a salary, and had to fill a quota on BFs. If they didn't make their quota, then their salary was docked a certain amount for each BF they were short.

Nowadays, from what I understand, it is not uncommon for BGs to be salaried. Last winter in Pattaya, all the ones I spoke with about it, were getting a salary on Soi 7 and Soi 8. Even brand new girls were getting about 3500 Baht/mo. Some were getting 10,000 Baht/mo at bars with high BFs(500and up).

A girl I spent a couple months with was getting 10K salary when I met her(later she was FLing), and her BF was 500 after 1:00, 600 after 12:00, and 700 before midnight. I never asked her if she had a BF quota, which was certainly not a problem when I was with her, but she would try to get me to buy her more drinks, saying she had a 90 drink per month quota, and that her 10K salary got docked if she did not get 90 LDs. Although, it never occurred to me to ask if she had a BF quota, it seems likely that she did, since she had a LD quota.

I can understand when bars do it to 'cover' their costs, but when they start putting stupid money on it, I will refuse to pay. But I do understand if higher payed staff have a higher 'leave cost'.

That said if a owner starts "offering" girls to me and a price, then I want nothing to do with the bar in question, know matter how nice the girls(s) are. But then, thats just me maybe and my shade of grey....

The cost of soi 6 on site rooms for the purpose on s/t action vary from 200 to 300 baht. Every lady I have been with in the soi are all happy 500 baht for the s/t action. So 700/800 total each time I've visited.

So in effect it would work out cheaper (or no more expensive) than taking a beer bar girl at 200 baht barfine, 500 to the lady for the s/t and 300 baht and up for the hire of a s/t room. Total 1000 baht, or 700 without the hire of a room.

i take your point,i cant believe all bars are like this,maybe gogo bars are not the beer bars surely.maybe nicke can enlighten us.
i know a few girls from u2 bar and ps1 bar on bangla,there barfine was 1000 baht.both girls didnt go with men and had sponsors,they certainly didnt have a quota of barfines.there sponsors where happy they were there as the barfines was so hi,but to be honest both the girls where quite good.i never seem them go with anyone.you never know mind.i didnt think about a drink quota.that surprised me as well.so what happens if a girl has someone barfine here for 2 weeks say,has she then got to fit the 90 drinks in during the other 2 weeks of the month she is at the bar??

Are there any bars besides MTB that still have a 200 Baht BF? I can remember there was one on Soi 8, but that is the only other one I am aware of.

Well yes, plenty of pattaya beer bars have raised that price a little, epsecially in the main drag along walking st and bars in the areas of 2nd road and sois off that road. 300 baht barfine and upwards seems to be becoming a norm.

Still plenty of bars with the old price of 200 though, go to soi buakow, diana type areas, naklua in the north.
Having said that, I don't consider a 100 baht increase much of a deal myself considering that 200 baht price point has been in affect for what seems like an enternity, inflation and all that.

Back the topic of the 1000 baht barfine.

Just my humble opinion and also one that is shared by many posters I've read discussing this.

The coyotee dancer concept is nothing more than an average looking girl in shorts wiggling on a podium, that really is the truth and it's nothing you can't see in various beer bars, perhaps minus the aircon. They certainly bear no relation to the movie 'coyotee ugly'.
Unfortunately this concept looks like it may be here to stay as business owners have found a way to re-package an average looking girl and tout it to be 'something special'.

Guys, especially newbies fall for this and the fact of the matter is, if you were on walking st in pattaya looking at 1000 baht barfine coyotee dancers, you could simply walking X amount of paces to a nearby by Agogo bar and look at hotter looking dancers (that are naked) and pay a barfine of 500/700 on average, showgirls cost more before certain times but there are still plenty of hot women for the standard agogo barfine price available.

A good point in case was a friend of mine who was in a disco that has coyotee dancers with high barfines, he was laughing while we talked about the fact that he saw guys were paying expensive barfines for these girls, while just literally a few paces away, were far hotter looking freelancers on the dance floor, no barfine required, that for me sums up the situation perfectly.

I don't really want to talk about 'going rates' but if I meet a hot looking girl in a club that is freelancing, most are happy with 500-700 baht s/t or 1000 baht for l/t, if a coyotee girl that has nothing more than the freelancer to offer in the looks department has a barfine of 1000 baht, is she seriously going to be happy if a guy offers less for the price of the barfine for some s/t action?

The main problem with these highly inflated barfines is that is raises (perhaps/maybe) the girls expectations of what they think guys should pay, some guys claim they still only pay 1000 baht for l/t with a coyotee dancer, and while that may be true, it still means you have paid 2000 baht before getting back to the room, when you could have taken 2 women from a nightclub for the same price.

Go figure.

Same rules as a BM run gogo I went to.. Not only was the Bar fine 1000 but even paying the grand bar fine she couldnt leave until after 12.

Last winter in Patts, I went with girls from one bar and one disco that were owned by the same owners. At the beer bar, the BF was 700 before 11, 600 before 12, and 500 after 1:00. At the disco, the same idea, but started at 1000 and bottomed at 700. For a couple of weeks, I did actually pay the 500 fine, because there was one girl i liked a lot. But then I just started waiting til closing and not paying at all. Later, when I took up with a girl who danced at their disco, i never paid the fine once.

I would never stiff an owner over a 2 or 3 hundred fine, but I had no compunction about doing it to a guy charging 500 to 1000. The bar across the street from his beer bar only charged 200 BF! Some guys think they can get away with anything.

The bar at the front of Soi Seadragon, on the right, pulled the same sort of crap on my Dutch friend, when i was last in Patong. Altho he really liked the girl, he broke up with her over that. Later, before he left town, she went to him and made an arrangement for meeting him after the bar closed. As a matter of principle, there was no way he was paying the BF there ever again, on account of how the Mamasan there treated him!

I think it is maybe different from one area to the next, and even from one bar to the next, but it seems like the trend is more towards salaries. Maybe the recession will change that, if tourism drops off a bit.

I don't think Nicke pays salaries(except to staff), but he runs MTB in the more traditional way, or so it seems to me.

I never heard of the LD quota before I met that girl, but what with paying her 10K, they had to be getting it back somehow, I guess. If someone BFed her for two weeks, and took her out of the bar, then she would lose a good bit of her 10K, unless she got twice as many drinks in the other 2 weeks. But even if she lost 5K there, she would easily make it up on 2 weeks of LT income. Otherwise, she would tell him to come to the bar each night to get her, and have drinks! That's what she told me! 55555....... :intello:
