when DJ'ing was spinning rare scratched up 7" platters I used to do the rounds of parties and inner city Sydney clubs with my boxes full of motown, stax, northern soul etc ....this sound always had a strong following and still exists to this very day in a few small nightclubs in the back streets of Kings Cross

Montonn's music isnt for everybody and this was a one off event, i believe the normal music policy will be house to hip-hop.

We would be very interested in getting a Northern Soul mix online and have all the kit needed, just the music & dj required.

Cool tune..

For trainspotting and name checking lots of N Soul / funk / motown / old dancehall.. A real mashup of older stuff.. Try DJ Adam Smith. Loads of mixes on his site for free.

What he does doesnt really come into the 'dance' category.. Its not really electric.. Its just eclectic and IMO cool sounds.

Dont want to drag threads out, but just wanted to let those interested in decent dance music to know that Sights & Sounds of Paradise has had a face lift.

With new mixes from some of Phuket's best Dj's along with mixes and live sets from guests of the past, present and future.
Recent updates include Jack Deep from Phuket and The Dub Pistols remixes featuring Lilly Allen (UK), Access Denied (Russia) and Utah Saints (USA).

This is the video for the original and have to say that we love Lilly ;-)

Songkran brings about many events and we are sure everyone will be having a party. Exactly where, what, who and how will be announced in the coming days.

if its your first time in Phuket, strongly recommend you venture out to Surin Beach. Stereo Lab (turn left at car park) are doing things nightly, while Catch Beach Club (turn right at car park) is chilled most nights and upbeat of a Saturday with Jack Deep.
Oh yeah and free flowing cocktails at Catch on Saturdays (choice of 2) between 9-11pm.

Another strong recommendation is BabaQ at Sri Panwa, next door to the Aquarium. They are meant to open a new club (Baba88) around Songkran, but we await to receive exact details.

Alternatively if you want to live the really high life, take a trip to Samui and check out the new Nikki Beach Nikki Beach

Their opening party is around the 4th April, so they should be up & running by the time you arrive.

RST, looks nice, but you just know the prices will be a huge rip off....interestingly they don't mention the prices online...personal hate of mine...

I'd say it's a bad time to open an expensive bar...and their location isn't too good either, but best of luck to them.
