Or something like that.
Once upon a time in a massage spa we all know but a "very long time" ago, I had an appointment with a marvelous young lady of some renown. I arrived a few minutes early, anxious for my second session with this fine lady only to be told that I would have to wait for a time. Quite sweet was she who passed on this word and accepted my entrance fee and invited me to rest in the waiting lounge. I waited for a long time along with a fellow customer and finally he was accepted into his session with "my girl". I waited and waited and waited, I knew I was next and my time would come. I watched all the lovely young girls as they flitted in and out of the waiting area, greeting customers, answering phones, and going about their business. One young lady in particular paid special interest in my plight, that same sweet lady who greeted me. She kept looking in on me, smiling and making my wait less difficult to manage.
Finally, hours had passed since I first arrived and I was met by my subject for the evening. She apologized profusely for keeping me waiting so long. She had worked a double shift, her appointments were booked back to back, and she just couldn't keep up this night. She was anxious, edgy, tired and wanted to rest. But the professional that she is, she put on her game face and treated me to a most enjoyable time. Although I had booked for an hour and the session ran only minutes short of the allotted time, she was emphatic that I would not be paying the full amount and reduced fees to 45 minutes. She walked me out to the outer door and bid me farewell, relieved that she had finished her duties for this night and asked me to come again and see her when she is more "herself" and not tired out from such a long day. I said I would, but for reasons unknown to me that evening I was not able to return and she has now left the business. Farewell fine lady, fine jewel of the Far East, you can never be replaced, as someone who knows you far better than I has recently said. You will be missed by all that had the fortune of knowing you.
Days and weeks passed but the memory of that sweet lady who; greeted me that evening, kept smiling and checking on me, and who saved me from paying the entrance fee twice, was fresh in my mind. (Side note: the manager that evening apparently believed there was a mix up and proof of payment had to be provided
