Are hotel rates in Patong going down??

I keep reading that at the moment it's still a tad quieter than in low season so I was just wondering if hotels are doing something about it (ie. drop their rates). Should be in Patong in early April.

They gave me a price of 800bt a night for april(17nights), Thats about right isnt it steve, I know I paid 600bt in july but that low-season?

yea 800 is ok,they bumped the normal price to 1000 a night.last year was 750 and i was getting it for 500 in april.times and prices are achanging.but i no at the mo its meant to be 1500,and they are acepting 1000.
i emailed for price for a week in april as i may be in patong a week as a few mates will be there with there falang birds,but there good friends.for 3 couples(inc.me and tuk) for 3 rooms for 7 nights i got 700 per person per night.i have stayed there a lot and no all the staff pretty much now so i am happy with that.but 800 is good.

Does anyone know if any of the more upmarket hotels waive the joiner fee ?? My job involves a lot of travel around Europe and I don't like staying in the 2/3 star hotels as well when on holiday.

I am looking a hotel that has a swimming pool, "in the room" electronic safe, no joiner fee and is very close to Bangla Road, i.e. no more than 3/4 minutes away.

Last time I brought a girl with me and we stayed at the Holiday Inn - fantastic hotel but charges the earth for an overnight guest and although close to Bangla, was a bit too far away for my liking. I was OK there, as my little lady was from Pattaya and I checked her in. This time however I am going to be flying solo and would very much like to maintain that "Holiday Inn" type of comfort.

Any ideas anyone ??

I booked in Patong Bay Garden Resort. They asked for joiner fee but they are going to waive it for me. If they don't I'll move to the Salathai.

Actually was looking very much to CRIMBO with you and the gang...but you know and I know what happened. Actually I was in the plane on Dec 26; flying over Penang towards Phuket before the captain announced that we cannot land due to earthquake. Forced to return back to KL.

FYI I will be making a short trip to Phuket, 10 Feb - 13 Feb 2005 to check out the scene and see some friends who are still there, especially Nicke and Ead but most imporatntly to give support to the people there in Phuket. This is an unscheduled visit/tour...well anyway it is only 1 hr. 15 min away and morever I will still need to use the money which I had paid as deposit for my stay in the hotel for Dec 26!

Songkran is out for me...it is during my peak season for earning bahts but according to the gentleman ex-long hair Tarzan, he, your honourable no hair self and Bono will making another trip in July/August! If you guys can fix the dates soonest, then maybe we can meet either in Phuket or Pattaya! (I can show you around in Pattaya .) Right now Airasia is promoting very cheap tickets to Bangkok and Phuket until October 2005 and so I will need to book early.

5555, all BMs invited! It was unfortunate that we could not meet for CRIMBO! I was looking forward to it for many months. In fact it was supposed to be my longest stay ever in Phuket; 26 Dec to 3 Jan (short by all BM std. but what the heck, I am just 1 hr. 15 min away!)

I hear it mentioned on the board far more than others. Is it fair to say it's the BMs' hotel of choice? I've heard it's guest-friendly. Any other comments on C & N would be appreciated, bc if it's recommended by most BMs, I'm quite sure it's good enough for me .

There's nothing really special about the rooms in C&N, They are very basic, You have your double bed,air-com,tv and shower.

But I like it because the staff are very friendly, There's no joiner fee, Its cheap enough and its a 1/2min away from bangla rd, So you have not got very far to stumble back with your LBFM in tow after a hard night on the tiles

Ps: And you dont have to keep on forking out 100bt for tuk tuks to get back every night, Which can burn a hole in your pocket after a while.

also ask for a big bed room and you get a massive double bed,essential for that late night action.
