Have patronised KTVs for quite some time and I have met many kinds of KTV girls. After beReviewiending some of them and getting to know more about why they choose this job, I really feel for them. I am soft hearted. Maybe, but I said these after cheonging for more than 10 years.

Well. I can say that there is definitely a group of KTV girls who are here to drain our money$$ and money$$ is what they are here for. But, there is another group who are forced to come here due to their poor financial background in China - I have deep regards for them and I respect them. Who will send their precious daughters to be in this line. Which girls are so courageous and thick-skinned to be in this line. They take a huge gut to "jump into this sea".

Of course, there are many stories about KTV girls conning Singaporeean money$$. I cautioned all to be aware and be careful. They really exist!

Thinking through and looking Reviewom their prespectives, I have some personal views. When I visit KTVs, respects will be given to them. What I mean is that. I will ask them whether they allow me to "Play" - in KTV terms lah. I have encountered newly-joined KTV girls cried till they like nothing after sitting with some nasty customers. Give them some due respects. If they don't allow, don't force them. We wouldn't want to see our Reviewiends' daughters or someone we know kena this treatment. Karma is the word.

Now, when I cheong. I would politely remind my Reviewiends. Want to "play", choose these "playable" ones. There are plenty out there. They are quite pitiful and sad when they join this line - don't make their life even worse.

Everyone has deserved their due respect.

Cool. You have shared your personal view, and I appreciate that. Here is mine:

I am never seen any point in asking for permission to play. If they are playable, it won't matter. If they aren't, then all they have to do is stop me when I try something, and I won't force them. Either outcome, asking is a waste of time. I don't have to "play" to have fun with a girl (though it certainly is the easiest way).

If the girls aren't strong enough to be in this line, then don't be in this line. Remember that at the end of the day, this is easy money. I have no patience for people who earn easy money through illegal channels and expect sympathy at the same time. These girls are adults. They made a conscious choice and I expect them to be responsible for it. The customers who made them cry are doing them a favour: they are showing the girls what it takes to make it in this business... and if they can't measure up, get out while they can.

unfortunately, I too fall into the soft-hearted side similar to ace7788.. though my experience in ktv only started recently, I also managed to meet such a gal who cried after I merely tried to put my hands into her dress.. guess I kena the newbie trap.. cos in the end, I did not touch her much.. ended up comforting her instead of "playing" with her.. and paid her more than I should cos I felt guilty...

on hind sight.. should have just asked her to go back home and stop wasting my time...

I guess so. The girl may hate you forever, but do you really give a shit about what a GRO thinks of you? OK, maybe that statement is a bit extreme, after all they are made of flesh and blood like us. If we can be nice to animals, why not them?

Bro, just remember these few maxims:
1. Being kind to others is being cruel to yourself.
2. Cruelty is kindness in disguise.
3. Kindness is cruelty in disguise.

Being nice to new girls doesn't aid their progress as GROs. It hinders it. Girls who get a shock Reviewom their first day at work either 1) get the hell out of this line so as not to compromise their virtue or 2) learn to keep up with the competition because while they are there crying, the other girls are happily earning. Either way, there is progress.

Just my opinion. End of the day, everyone's bottomline is different. I know I cannot afford to be a hero, and thus I make it quite clear to the girls that I'm not going to be one. They can complain to me that a customer ran off without tipping her, her handphone got stolen, a customer bullied her in another room. Not my problem. I can listen, but don't expect me to pay her extra, buy her a new handphone or go to the other room to beat the customer up. That's not even heroic, just dumb.
