Had similar experience in Club V along JC a couple months back.

This cute Viet sat with me. I wrapped my arms around her Reviewom behind and we just hugged. I can't speak Viet and she can't speak China. And even if we could, the music was just too loud. A Tom & Jerry cartoon was showing, so we watched it, cheek to cheek. We laughed at the same moments.

Humour is an invisible language on its own, and it really does bridge part of the distance.
