Intersting perspectives. For me i wouldn't pay more than 200 baht on principle. i would rather goto another bar where my business is wanted and appreciated

MTB still charge only 200 baht, most bars charge 300 and girls on salary is most likely 500 baht as stated.

Bar fine income is still a very small part of my income and I will not rise that charge. I usually have 3-6 girls barfined every night but the barfine is not important to me, I want to run a cheap bar and 200 baht is enough in my opinion.

I do understand that girls with salary have a higher barfine, its same in MTB.

Part of Thailands allure for many however is stretching your money further and being able to live a lifestyle above that in your own country with the same amount of money. Although there have been debates on here on just how cheap is Thailand in reality (at least the tourist areas everyone frequents).

Certainly it all comes down to individual wealth as to if an amount is little to you or not, and have to remember a lot of guys on here have mentioned the Japs as f*cking up the market for others with their ability/willingness to pay whatever gets asked of them..Wonder how many people would start getting upset if barfines went up to 1000 baht or 1500 baht and look for cheaper elsewhere while the Jap guys would keep on happily paying and thinking if silly Gaijing cant afford it its their own fault not earning enough money

I liked this answer..... Its true.... If its a girl you like and you are debating to yourself over a couple of 100bt then she cant be that special..... If you like her then pay the extra baht... That money your saving on a bar fine is nothing really to us.... Also from my understanding the girl gets some of it... You think the bar will cut the loss from there end.... I dont think so... Also 200bt will mean more to the girl than us when we get back... Here in Germany a beer in a pub....

Staying long time in Thailand make´s you a "cheap charlie" i gues , you learn more about things and you need your money to last longer .. why pay 500thb for a BF when you know some people work for less then ½ of it for 10 hours a day in a factory?

well,when so many people start to pick up girls on the street,discos or massage institutes,its hard to get girls working in the bars.so many bars now have to give the girls salary,good commission on drinks and barfine,sometimes also butter them up with food,or day offs etc.otherwise the girl wont work.and if a guy comes up having a singha,1ladydrink and want to barfine the girl,its no economy for the bar owner.with a barfine of 200baht it will not even break even...

with email,phones etc the girls get lazier,(knowing their #value?) and with sponsors that sending girls money,they dont want to sit in a bar from say 10-02.and the barowners have to do something to attract girls to work.and at same time not loose money.the girls wanna make money,the barwowner gotta alot to pay for,and also need to make money.

and the prices for drinks and barfines and ladydrinks are 15-20%higher in soi tiger then elsewhere,but still its crowded.and people still pay...

I use 2 accounts and 2 visa cards ... i can move money between accounts from internet if i loose a card or use to much money from one of the accounts .. "bad thing" right now is G/F me have one of the cards , hum
