can any one help reflexology stool or chair?

hiya,

confuse [sm=confused-smiley-012.gif]? very much so, can any one help me, what would you recommond. i am studying reflexology and hopefully once i pass my exam i would like to start working from home or go to my clients. my question is which one is the client would feel more comfortable with, I know stool is more easier to carry around if i'm mobile. but can i have honest answers which one, does one client really perfer.

I have to be honest my clients like different things some like the couch and some like the reflexology stool, that l bought from darley couches...

it folds flat and is not heavy to carry around.

I had the couch first, and then saved up for the stool, l tend to use the stool more now when mobile as these are clients who are elderly and they can stay sat in their armchair and just put their feet up on the stool...

If you dont do other therapies you dont really need a couch. The most comfortable thing for everyone is the Lafuma chair. The couch can feel hard and uncomfortable in my own experience, the chair is also easily portable for home visits. Some of my clients lay on the sofa if I dont want to take my chair, feet over end.

Thank you, I am qualified massage therapist, I do have massage table and I have practice on it, but my husband hated the experince on it, as it was too uncomfortable for him, he said you need something else, but he always complains any way, so i got my son on it and he said he got bored of lying flat on it, so i think you are right, a lafuma chair is the answer, now i have to invest on it. i wish i could find answer to stop my family falling too bored when i practice.

A couch can be just as comfortable, if you get a good, well upholstered one with a rising backrest. Use a couple of pillows behind the back and a bolster under the knees....heaven!

I have a massage table with lifting back rest which I used all the time with pillows for comfort - no-one complained, but then I bought a LaFuma chair and most prefer this. I've had treatments on the table but not the LaFuma and I find the table OK, but sitting in the LaFuma I think I could probably relax more during a treatment.

Last night at the college, I asked my tutor what would she recommond as my massage table dosent have back rest, she said dont waste your money, go and buy a bean bag put that as back rest and it does the same job, now has anybody tried it that way, i dont think buying the right chair in the long run would be waste, but i think she means at thins moment while, i'm practicing. jan you are welcome to be one my case study if you like as i dont live too far away from you, i'm in Hornchurch, if you are intersted let me know.

I have the Lafuma too and it's just wonderful... I do find the couch's abit uncomfortable no matter what is behind me but the bean bag sounds good so worth a try.

The Darley stool is the most portable out of that, a Lafuma and a couch (I have all three). Probably the best one for treating heavily pregnant people and the elderly is the Darley stool, as the Lafuma can be a pain to get on and off. From the therapist point of view I find the Lafuma more comfortable that the Darley stool when I am treating. The couch is fine but I mainly use it for Reiki. Most of my reflexology clients prefer the lafuma to the couch. The beanbag idea is an interesting one!

I have the bean bag, and it has been so succeful with friends, they love it, they said it's so comfortable that they feel relax almost immaditaly, so maybe after Easter holiday i try to use you, i have all my case studies now but for one session, you are welcome to be my ginea pig, send me pm.

I use a lafuma for most treatments and a portaped similar to this one on the Beautelle site for heavy people and for pregnant ladies (lately I've been using the portaped more than the lafuma.

I too have a La Fuma chair and they are great and very very comfortable. Clients love it as it really cushions them.

I use the Lafuma for nearly everyone. The only people it's totally unsuitable for (not counting small children) is heavily pregnant women, since there's too much pressure on their backs, which is very uncomfortable and not that great for their babies either.
