Personally, I didn't find the screening for Candlelight or Spellbound to be troubling at all. They're not the kinds of places I keep going back to, but that's just a personal preference...

I went to Candlelight one time about 3 years ago. At that time I was told I had to speak to the operator, H. H called me on my cellphone and asked me a bunch of questions like what I did for a living, where I worked etc. I did mention that I had been to Spellbound and don't know if they called over there for a reference or not. At that time I saw a girl by the name of Dylan who had some good reviews but I was not overly impressed with her. The operator H did explain to me some differences between Candlelight and SBM, differences which I kind of knew anyway. As with Spellbound I was given a code, although my code for Candlelight is different than my code for SBM. I wonder if I went back 3 years later they would still recognize my code since I have not been there since late 2008.

By the ways I think all the high end places have some kind of screening procedure and you guys should understand the reasons for that.

If you've been to another, similar place, you can just have the other place call Candelight. This is not uncommon with the high-end "body rub" spots like Spellbound, etc. I have been to Spellbound so I just had them email Candelight and I was immediately "screened". Never ended up going to Candelight, because I don't like the idea of paying top dollar and KNOWING that the bottoms are going to come off.

I tried calling to make an appointment and was told they aren't accepting new clients until later in the week. Is this a common practice here? I've never heard of such a thing. Then the girl on the phone suggests I call later in the week to be screened and they will determine if I can set an appointment to come in. They seem to think they are a high-end yacht club or something. Isn't this place just a standard R&T joint? Do I need 3 letters of reference to be accepted?

I think the "tat" experience is more like the exception. Again, i am all the way across the pond, so I dont recall most of the "hipsters" besides Kat and Jenny. Its also true that there are no extras to be had.

Just realize that this place is a no-touching=below-the-waist affair, and there are definitely no extras.

Girls are more of that Brooklyn hipster vibe as opposed to that hot stripper vibe. Lots of them have tattoos and/or piercings.

I have seen Sara. She seems to be the exception. She is fair-skinned and the kinda girl-next-door look that you might find walking around in the library at Columbia.

Kat was the first girl i ever saw at CS, and i still remember that day! she went away for a while but is back now i understand. She is always a treat and understands you more than you think. If you can succeed in getting Heather to see you (rarely happens now), thats definitely on my list too. I believe Jenny is the irish sweet heart, and you would be amazed at where she can take you despite the innocent looks!!! I havent been in a while as ai am across the pond, but fond memories. See eitehr Jenny or Kat. WHichever way, you cant go wrong.

Candlelight is definitely a good spot to visit once you can get past the intial screening process. One of the good things about CS is that there won't be any switching up on you, and the girls are able to engage you and make you feel comfortable. Its my go to place whenever i am in NYC and need a little bit truly relaxing session.

Haven't been here before, but thinking about going to Candlelight soon. Descriptions on their website are a bit coy and vague. Reading here and elsewhere I've heard that the girls are young, friendly, and sort of East Village hip. I like what I've heard about Sara, so planning to go see her when I can. Any experiences with her or other suggestions?
