My basic view of MP economics,

So here's my thinking about the new pricing. It's not that kama pays the girls to work there, but the girls pay to work there. That being the case, the more clients a person sees the more they will make. However there are only so many massages a massuse can give in a day. So instead of increasing the number of massages a massuse will give they'll increase the price which I imagine is in line with the demand that they've been seeing.

Honestly, Sure I believe Maya may be worth the price. but now the cost of seeing a MP is equal to or greater then seeing an SP.

If it's not then demand will decrease, and as a result price will decrease.

In any case, I just thought I'd share my thoughts on MP economics. It doesn't necessarily apply specifically to Kama but can also be associated to stripper economics.

I do wonder if SP's have a similar pay to work at agency system?

I've been to a lot of massage places and no girl ever mentioned they had to pay to work but I have never asked them directly. As for economics of MP's surely at some point they will start shooting themselves on the foot.

Years ago I used to go to Octopussy and the ONLY reason I would do so was because no other MP was open late at night. And wouldn't You know, this allowed them to jack up prices much higher than the usual price ( I was once asked $130 just to get in), It was a take it or leave it situation. With no other places available, horny and tipsy, sure I gave in several times, but as soon as other MP's started closing at late night hours, I was like "fuck this place" and never went back. But I have no idea if they're as busy as when they were the only available MP although they did lose me as a customer.

We'll see what happens with Kama even if their prices approach those of SP's, very often, like many, I'm not always looking for FS just a very pretty girl and higher mileage than a Stripclub. If it gets to expensive or my financial situation goes down I would surely ditch them as well.

I think it is Standard Operating Procedure for massage girls to pay to work at a place on a daily basis. I knew it was the case for strippers at strip clubs so the last time I went for a massage I asked, and it was confirmed. Could someone else ask so that it can either confirmed or denied by someone?

When you go to a massage place like Kama, you pay to the receptionnist around 60$ for the room and SPA rental. That goes to the owner of the salon. The girls get paid with the options you take and pay directly to her.

The girl doesn't pay the owner, he gets to keep the entrance fee.
Of course, if in other places there is no door fee and you give the full amount to the girl, she has to give part of it back to the owner but this is much more risky because this way they could be accused of proxenitism because they collect money that girls made with ''illicit activities'' while if they collect money from a guy at the entrance it is more legit.
The same thing for strippers who pay what is called ''service bar'' and they usually pay it to the barmaid or sometimes to the DJ so the money is not collected directly by the management.
Another example is the private booths. If the doorman collects the 2$ ,5$ and sometimes 10$ occupancy of the private booths directly from what the girl's made dancing it could be interpreted in court as living from the fruits of prostitution but instead they collect the money from the John.
Once again, i want to make myself clear, it is generally speaking, not always done this way everywhere, some people or places just don't care and have different way of operating.

je vais te la donner moi l'heure juste ainsi qu'a tout les personnes qui parlent sans vraiment connaitre ce qu'ils disent , ayant travailler comme masseuses durant 3 ans dans plusieurs salons et maintenant retirée depuis un peu plus de 6 mois pour un nouveau choix de carriere , la facon que cela fonctionne et c'est la regle partout est bien simple , oui il y a ce qu'on appelle une cote a payer et dans 90% des endroits c'est $10.00 que la fille doit remettre pour chacun des trois premiers client qu'elle fait dans la journée , si par la suite elle fait d'autres clients elle est exempté de cote a payer , et ces cotes d'apres ce que nous disent les proprios servent a payer la réceptionniste , les publicités , les équipements de travail tel que les huiles , cremes , etc ... voila coment cela fonctionne réellement

So today I asked the same question again to a different lady at a different parlor. As MilkySoup82 stated above, all Massage Parlors have sort of variant of this procedure.

Current procedure: when a MP works at a parlor, their first customer of the day is free, but the 2nd client of the day owes a payment from the MP to the management of 30 CAD, then no additional charge for clients for the remainder of the session. The 30 fee charged to the masseuse is to cover the cost for things like advertising as well as logistics (laundry), etc.

10 Years ago it was different. Basically management took 10 CAD per client, and massage sessions were limited to 30 minutes, and not an hour. So a masseuse doing 10 (30 minute) sessions per day could earn 800 + tips. Now it's more like 6 sessions per day or 480 + tips. Sessions for 90 minutes typically earn a girl 120 + tip, but 10 years ago 3 (30 minute) sessions would have earned a girl 240 + tips.

Hope you comprehend what goes on behind the curtain now.

Merci MilkySoup82 pour les petites précisions mais je ne crois pas que je parlais sans connaitre ce que je disais quand meme.

Moi je disais qu'une place comme Kama, si tu paye une entrée de 60$ et ensuite une option Thai a 80$, le proprio gardais le 60$ pis la fille le 80$.
Tu as précisé, pis honnetement je t'en remercie de nous en informer, que pour les 3 premiers clients la fille remet 3x10$ mais meme toi tu dis que c'est pour payer les huiles, les serviettes, la publicité, le salaire de la réceptionniste,etc.

Donc ce 10$ se rend meme pas dans les poches du boss, donc on peut pas vraiment dire qu'elle paie pour travailler dans le salon.
Si je suis le 4,5 ou 6e client de sa journée, selon toi elle arrete de payer, donc elle met le 80$, au complet, drette dans ses poches.
C'est certain qu'une fille va répondre a un client qui lui demande qu'elle ne garde pas tout l'argent pour elle, comme ca des clients vont etre plus enclin a donner un pourboire.

Pour conclure, une fille qui recoit 5 clients dans une journée, fait 80$x5=400$ clair dans ses poches, pour 30$, elle a un endroit sécuritaire ou travailler, un site web pour lui faire de la pub, une téléphoniste-réceptionniste pour prendre ses rendez-vous, l'huile, la creme, serviettes de bain fournies etc.

Je pense que j'avais raison de dire qu'une fille ''paie'' pas juste pour avoir le droit de travailler dans un salon...

entre toi et moi une fille qui travaille chez Rotisserie St-Hubert exemple , doit - elle payer pour la pub , le site internet , la réceptionniste , la nourriture vendue , le savon vaissaelle etc.... ? cela reviens donc a dire que les $10.00 reviennent dans les poches du patron puisqu'il aurais a l'assumer si ce n'étais de la fille .

Dans ton exemple ou tu dit que la fille fait 5 clients a $ 80.00 chaque pour un total de $ 400.00 , si le patron a de son coté 6 filles sur le plancher qui elles lui rapportent :

6 filles x 5 clients =30 clients x 60.00 = $ 1.800 par jour x 30 = $ 54,000 pour le mois , on s'entends tu pour dire qu'il n'a pas besoin de venir fouiller dans nos poches pour payer ces trucs ?

Il y a un mot il me semble pour désigner cette facon de faire , attends j'essaie d'y penser , ah oui je crois que ce mot commence par la fin de ton nickname . ile:

I was about to go the other night but yeah the prices scared me off for a number of reasons. $30 more is a big increase but I am more concerned that with the higher prices the girls will have an even higher view of themselves which will lead to a more diva attitude which we all know leads to a dissapointing service and a frustrating parting of what know is $160 or higher. The easy solution is for all of the regulares or occasional locals to simply boycott this place. Sure there will still be a steady tourist trade but in the end some girls may transfere to a regulare price place just to get their regulares back and develope new local customers. I will never buy the cost of business or inflation argument about the prices in these places. Even if the MP's take is "only" $40 per client (that is conservative. more likely the take averages $70) that is still 2.5-3X more per hour than these uneducated women would get in the real work force and it is pretty much tax free. Let's go with the $70 average per hour=say around $500 per shift. With new prices the average goes up by $20 per hour=around a rounded $650 per shift. Let's just say that half the customers are regulares. If they stay away and no one replaces them, the MP's daily take drops from to $325 from $500.

We can continue to whine about prices which is also fun or we can vote with our wallets. Go elsewhere and make it clear why. I bet that the MP's follow the money. If I were an MP, I would decide to do it for no more than 3-4 years max. $500 per day is better than $300. With a good rep I could probably make 6-700 per day X 4 shifts for around $2800 per week. Putting away $2000 per week for 4 years makes for a nice $400 000 start to "funding" my "education". Just saying.

I spoke to a a massage girl at another place and she said she averaged $800/shift, cash $$$. They do well, as long as there are customers. If they're lifting up the rates and there is no added service, they will suffer.
