Company not answering phone for few days

I agree with Dereks experience. Over the course of numerous phone calls, Jan, who is Charles' wife fobbed me off with empty promises that she was waiting for a new supplier to deliver, & that she would ensure part of my order would be delivered. Throughout the 6 week period from ordering she knew some items were unavailable. She even took a second order 2 weeks before the court hearing, with the promise of delivery of my previous order.
No matter how charitable & understanding you are, she was beyond unprofessional.
The way I found out that they had ceased trading was by contacting the Aromatherapy Trades Council.
I am still in the process of trying to get my money back from my credit card company.

The sale of the company went through today and we are actively trying to go the list of customers and contact people who have had some issues. I'm in Chipping Norton this Friday and will try and send out some formal notification and details of the new owners. I am sorry that the company had to close but glad that someone else is taking over the company.

I am hoping that you will look at any emails sent through to the essentially oils email address. I sent them one before realising they had closed. I have repreatedly tried to ring them. Part of my order has remained incomplete since nov/dec last year. I rang about it at the time and was told it had been sent out but I needed to wait a month because of Christmas delays. When it didn't arrive I rang again numerous times, they didn't return my answer phone message.

This company was recommended to me and I do realise that they have had a very hard time but it is a shame that the only time I used them I had such poor service.

I for one am in deep sympathy with this fate of this family, Charles, Jan and their son ran this small family business, even though the volume of information from Charles on Aromatherapy would suggest a much larger company. His technical knowledge on essential oils was very supportive when I studied Aromatherapy and I cannot count the number of times I made a call to them to ask about oils, which they explained with patience.

It is unfortunate that some of you have lost much needed finance in your small businesses, but from the threads it would appear that this could be a temporary situation.

I contacted the company in January because I did not see a current Newsletter and Jan informed me of Charles' accident but was hopeful of his recovery. I do not know if he actually recovered. As we, Aromatherapists, all know Charles was the Aromatherapy brain behind the company.

While I do not want to indulge in a lengthy post, I call on all of us to show some compassion and sympathy in our thinking on this situation. It is very easy for us to feel focused and strong when we are not touched by tragedy.

I lost my son 6 years ago and for a long time after nothing mattered. I always felt I could cope with any situation life threw at me, but not that one.

So let us be mindful of the energy of care and compassion towards others. I do hope that Charles recovered and send best wishes to the family. I will miss the Newsletters and the Monthly Specials.
