Disappointments: SRM & Allure

My reviews have mostly been positive over the years about people here, but I think a couple of establishments and MPAs need a tuneup. Before I left the Red House I had a plan. I was very happy to see that Sophie was on the SRM schedule on a day when I could be in TO. When I called, the desk person said to check in the morning of appointment day because evidently Sophie frequently "calls off". I even called the night before and the launch was still go. Indeed, I checked that morning after my travels and she had called off. I said thanks, but I need to rethink this and call back. Phone person enthusiastically said "Great!" I am thinking this is not great. Due to previous reports of Sophie no shows on massageplanet.net, I already had a backup in mind. I just didn't know if I wanted to play bait and switch. I called again and asked to book Kelly. Phone person said Kelly had "called off". I voiced my disappointment in their performance. Only then did phone person agree that this was really not great. A wise man once told me "There is ability and there is dependability".

I then called Allure. Kyla has a good solid reputation here as does Allure. Their phone person said that yes Kyla was on the schedule but she was "not massaging today". I said that does not help me. Realize that I had already PMed Select about one of their ladies two days before for the night of my arrival, but I did not even receive a reply. I said thanks, but no thanks to Allure. The SP on arrival was optional, but the massage for the next day was a core part of the plan. It is not that Allure does not have some good alternative ladies, but you can run out of patience. This would have been my first trips to Allure and SRM. I wish things had turned out differently.

You can keep spending money on advertising to get the fans to come to the ballpark, but when they show up it makes no sense if there is no team there to play baseball. There is a happy ending to this story to follow.

What did you do to piss off the hobbying gods?

I have had employees not show up for work enough to know that no shows happen in every place of business. Having the ladies from each of the 2 spas you wanted to see not show up is old fashioned bad luck I think. Usually these spas field a full roster, in fact some people complain that one of these places has too big a roster, which in turn has diluted the talent on the roster.

I have no problem with no-shows. But I do have a concern when management booking an appointment at 11:00 (when a certain individual should have been in but was not in yet) for 3:00. I then showed up and was told the person never made it in. At least let me know to call in before I head out, to ensure the person did show up. If I book an appointment during her shift, I think its reasonable for me to assume the MPA is in.

This happened recently. I did not get upset... it's only a massage. But I could imagine other clients being much more upset then me.

You had really back luck.

Last week the same thing happened to me at HFH, but generally for every 10 app'ts only 1 will cancel. Management at the better MPs really crack down on MPAs who repeatedly call in sick and will fire even their very popular ladies who do it too often. With the wide assortment of great MPA's TO has to offer there are always alternatives. I called Platinum last minute and they had Nicole available so I jumped on it and had a great first time session with her.

Your selection of Kyla @ Allure was an excellent choice, unfortunately she is quasi-management at Allure and when they are short a receptionist she is the one who fills in.

I've been at SRM when Joy is pulling her hair out trying to find missing scheduled girls. I know a few ladies have been suspended or terminated in the past for not showing up. Sorry about your bad luck but chalk it up to a bad day and check out one of the other lovies who works their.

Hate this to be my first post but Mr. Prez struck a nerve. I am an SRM regular and make appointments because with a hour drive each way, I want to be sure the girl of my choice is available when I arrive. Recently this was an issue with a no show and after waiting for half an hour the receptionist finally said she called the girl and she was not going to be coming in that day after all. Not the end of the world since there were a couple of others available.

Problem is the receptionist told me this was basically my fault for not reconfirming the appointment on the same day and that "everyone knows to that". My alternate that day was a huge disappointment, came into the room after a long wait, kept looking at the clock, finished 10 mins early, and a lame attempt at BS. I see now from other reviews here that she was a poor choice.

It got worse when on the way out I saw that the girl I had originally booked was setting up her room for a client. I was pissed and went I got home I sent Joy a pm about all this but more than a week has gone by without a response.

Looks like I will be looking for an SRM replacement....sounds like Platinum or Allure would be the next best in line...any other suggestions.

I have just heard from Joy and in all fairness to her, she did not receive my original PM as her message box was full. I gave her the details on my visit and I hope she can clear up my concerns with SRM.

I've noticed the same thing as well. Is SRM quality slipping? I've read many complaints lately that seem consistent with no shows and appoinments cut short. The schedule has 10 girls on shift but when u call they only ramble off 6 or 7 girls with 3-4 of them not worth seeing. I guess sticking with Lizz or Riley is a safe bet.

I do feel for Joy @ co . Managing an all girl crew of 20+ is not an easy task (It is so hard to deal with one at home).I think they are going to be fine once the newbies are going to settle down.(I remember the similar issues couple of yrs ago.

Maybe slightly off topic but it gives us all a feel for the MP's when the clients are no-shows. Of course, this refers to none of us.

Sorry to hear about your plans falling apart. I have always found SRM and Allure to be very professional and accommodating. It just wasn't your day, we all get those.

Nice point Butcher,

When a girl pulls a no show you still have the money in your pocket and can try someone else or try another day.

When a guy pulls a no show, other guys miss out and worst of all the girl is out money because other clients may have been turned away because of the appointment.

I think guys should make a better point about cancelling.

I know of one spa that likes guys to call 1 hr before arriving for appointments not a bad idea since it helps everyone but it is also a pain in the ass.

My QUEEN of no shows was the OLD Ashley at SRM. (The Indian one) She'd normally work the night shift and several times I made the mistake of booking at 10PM only to be let down.

It took a while but then I (finally) got smart and booked at 11PM. I'd call after 10PM to see if she was there.

The difference is I can drive to any of my "primary spas" (Lexa, SRM, Utopia, A & R) in less than 30 minutes. The worst one for me is Star Studio, and yes I've driven there from Sq.1 only to be told MPA X couldn't make it in.

Are no shows frustrating as hell?

Damned right, but as a client you work around it. It's also important to remember the times we've arrived on a whim with NO appt and walked in to some great sessions.

A whim is how I discovered my current favourite. It wasn't through massageplanet.net, it was purely on a whim.

Joy and the lovely MPA have both contacted me and cleared this issue up. Their response, once the message got thru, was professional and addressed all my concerns. SRM will definately get my next visit based on this and I suspect many more to follow based on my history of going there.

One good lesson learned out this...you guys and Joy have always given me good advice on a choice of MPA, taking a random guess off the list is definately not something I will be doing again.
