I was thinking the same as Dawsey , we in the Uk are famously lazy at learning other languages like all our friends in Europe.

It's quite a shame really as the majority on countries around the world learn english as a 2nd language , at the same time this is the very reason most here don't bother unless they are particularly interested (usually french & german are taught in school)

So, commenting on anyone here and flaming them for trying their best is highly unjust.

As for posting some Norweigen here Geir , we haven't even got those letters (symbols) on our keyboards mate No chance

I think anything would be better then the sound of entering/exiting 7-11.

Although i suppose it's the trademark sound of the company as you always see ads on thai tv for 7-11 + the sound of the doorbell.

To be honest i cant see what the point is of 2am closing. I mean the fact is that people (we) will go out earlier and get equaly as drunk if not more (just look at the british laws, and people drinking as much as poss during the offical hours, if not cramming it in before closing! uke: ). Thats why Europe has always seemed more 'cultural' to me.

Iv'e been reading some pattaya forums recently on the same subject and they state many of the pattaya beer bars and Agogo's have already started this trend.
Many Agogo's in that neck of the woods are opening around 3pm and offerering happy hours from opening time up until around 7:30pm on average to entice the punters in.
Let's hope Patong follows suit

The difference is in Patong during the afternoon there are very few people out and about. They are mostly out away from Patong doing other things. But who knows what might really happen, and then we may have to look at it and change the way that we do business.
