How is the music and dance floor , is it good, i love the theme of pool and dance floor at same place.


500THB per person or per couple? does it include free drinks? is there any dress code? I hope there shouldnt be any as they do have a pool and they cant expect people to dress up and utilize the pool

Famous is pretty cool ! i've been there many many times, its located round the side of Jungceylon and up on the rooftop (easy to find... just look for the massive advertising tv screen on the building that lights up half of patong!), just grab yourself a "flyer" from the guys/girls handing them out as your walking round there, usually it gives you free entry and doubles as a 2 for 1 drink coupon.

They got two levels, the rooftop is really cool, lots of sunbeds to kick back on, and a few private booth sections, the music is usually cruisy funky dance music with a dj playing, the kind of music where you wont recognise any of the songs but is still good.

Theres no dress code, but most people dress nice, up to you, whether you wear shorts, tshirt and thongs or jeans shirt and shoes, fair few euro's go there... you'll see a heap of pretty hot russian babes there few thai people go there too, the girls are prob more from the richer set.

With the pool, if you wanna go for a swim you can... just gotta strip off down to your underwear and jump in few people jump in after a few drinks !

Plenty of entertainment too, they have a girl who does some pretty awesome fire twirling, and you'll get a group of pretty hot thai girls come out and parade around the pool in bikini's, dance round the pool.. look all hot, swim, play with blow up balls then parade off, last time i was there.. only 2 weeks ago, the girls come back out with a tray of body paint, and you can take a turn at painting them. So while your drinking/talking/danicing theres a bit of side entertainment to check out.

Next level down is the nightclub, the pool is glass bottom, so you can look up and watch the girls swim in the pool they'll play more standard club tunes, no smoking inside but theres a cool smoking area out the side.

I met my girl at Famous back in April during Songkran, she used to be a pool model, the girls aren't the type where you barfine them, after they finish swimming they head down to the nightclub and hang out, you can buy them a drink, they're up for it, but at 3am they all take off home, unless the one your drinking/dancing with likes you.

This last trip i only went there a couple of times, but back in April i had a ball there, they dont get the crowds Hollywood and Taipan gets, its not really a hunting ground like Hollywood is for single guys, more just like a normal nightclub, with groups of girls or guys, couples etc.

I kinda just got lucky and ended up making friends with all the pool girls i used to rock up there about midnight to 1am when they finished swimming and i'd end up hanging with a dozen gorgeous babes ! lol

Its well worth a visit if you like a classier kind of nightclub, or into good dance music apart from the standard tunes.

Stereolab (Catch beach club) is another good club... up at Surin, its smaller, but pretty laid back with good dj's playing there.

If your on Facebook, search "Famous Phuket" and "Stereolab", like those pages and they send you messages on whats happening next.

^ Stereo lab and Catch are two different places on Surin Beach...

Catch is the beach club annexe of Twin Palms Hotel at the north end of the beach....it's a nice but expensive restaurant with beach lounge area and swings into a groovier vibe at night....has the odd party...NYE is a great night here with DJs and fireworks

Stereo lab at the south end of the beach is also part of the Indochine Group....it has international DJs regularly and local DJs such as the Phuket House Mafia on others...its undergoing refurb at present but still open

lol, sorry for the bumsteer there, i got a little mixed up, all that cheap tequila and jagermeister killed off a few too many brain cells i think

StereoLab was where i was frequenting... down the southern end.

...speaking of cheap tequila, i found a place right down the back of Soi Seadragon, as you enter the rear of the Soi, its the first bar you come across in the middle.... they sell 5 shots of tequila for 100baht!! (now that works out at 65cents AUD a shot which in turn works out to be a very big hangover the next day!)

i thought yeah, it would have to be watered down, threw the first few down, 10 mins later... ok, its pretty real enough you know your drinking levels are getting up there when you walk away fine and the bg is sitting at the table, head in the hands sayin.. i'm duuuuuuuunk, clutching a bottle of water ! lol, but i gotta give it to her... she was still asking to do one more dink with me before i left... i had to evoke my Responsible service of dinks to dunk bg powers ! one more and she woulda been down and out on the floor !

Went there a few nights ago when DJ Jazzy Jeff was spinning. Pretty quiet, about 70 people or so which I would guess 80% were Russians. Very few thai people besides the girls with Russian guys and staff of course. Can't see how this place is going to break even let alone make any profit with the obvious mega money spent on it. It's a nice club no doubt, reminds me of a lot of Hollywood clubs in LA, but I doubt it can be making too much. No girls were dancing around the pool or anything else, entertaining, possibly due to Jazzy Jeff being there.

no probs youngcouple, and yeah it can get a little quiet there sometimes, but some nights its not bad to chill out up on the rooftop section away from the chaos of Bangla.

I've often asked myself the same thing, how they can stay in business with very few walking throught the doors of a night. But still, i had some great nights there.
