same reason with massage spas here. it's not just Thai, i've had Sweedish, Shiatsu, Chinese and have been massaged by a blind person.

We are also obviously not from Sweden, but we do Swedish massage. I also get shiatsu and Balinese - - - nothing Filipino at all.

These are all massage techniques. Thai means a lot of stretching. Swedish means a lot of rubbing, using the masseuse's palm. Shiatsu is a lot of needling, etc.

Spas all over the world use these techniques, and some other techniques they will claim are unique to them.

because it is the shorter version for " thai style massage" or "thai originated, development etc massage" but is said truly came from India.
same with "pansit malabon" short for "pansit ng mga taga malabon" or "pansit na nagmula sa malabon"
longer headings would cost more for lettering or printing job and short titles are more catchy for advertisement to catch attention and easy to remember.

thai massage refers to a particular technique that involves a lot of intense stretching, they also do a usually do a hard or deep massage, the traditional fillipino style of hiliot emphasizes reducing stress around the head, neck, sholders and back it is a usually a moderate massage, but some will give it as a hard massage, and may ask a slightly higher fee for a hard massage over a light massage... both are a great massage, it depends what you are in a mood for, or what aches and pains you need to get worked on.

for a first time massage, you should try a swedish massage, it is the standard style done at most western spas.

BTW, Thai massage originated in India.
