Whenever I want to compare today's dollars to historic values, I just Google it. You can find out average inflation values year to year, total cumulative inflation values. When Henry Ford paid his workers 5 bucks a day, it's similar to 140 today. Mind you, they didn't have income tax, and all the deductions they have today. Going back to the original discussion, $5 in 1979 is about $22 today. It seems about right, even though not all items rise at the same rates. For example, the price of new cars have gone up much more than the average inflation rates. With that being said, a massage for 20 bucks today seems to be very unlikely.

Well Not really small coffee at Tim's is $1.59, They are also supposed to have an Extra small for $1.29 but good luck finding a store that carries extra small.
Starbucks smaller size is short cost $1.83
dunkin' Donuts small coffee is also $1.59
The same coffee at second cup will run you over $3.00
At most neighborhoods coffee shops small still cost $1.29. at least at two of my 2 closest shops.

Hortons tried extra small for a bit, but eliminated it because there wasn't enough demand for it. The small is 1.65 with tax. McDonald's reduced their coffee prices across the board. The small is 99 cents plus tax. I don't think it will last long because world coffee prices will be going up in a couple of months.

They make obscene money tax free.I make $100000 it is taxed heavily plus cpp and all else, they make more and no taxes. Free ride on government amnesty. If they are a scrub it definately obscures there judgement. They accept your gifts and they can not afford to be a real person at a job you do 6 days a week.
