Partners
Yes, it is often disappointing when our clients or partners don't show up for an appointment or a class. We do make a commitment to be there for them and the very least that they can do is let us know, in advance, if they can not make it. In my classes, the students are required to let me know by phone or email that they can not make it. I understand that many have children and emergencies do happen.
Again, I believe that the deep relaxation response happens because of the relationship and interaction of the vitality of the breath uniting with the power of touch. It is especially noticable when both giver and receiver are aware of their breath, often referred to as mindfulness.
I have learned that this phenomena is especially noticable in chair massage. While laying our hands on our partner's shoulders and breathing together, we can feel the tension melting. I call this the empathic connection as we are fully united during this process and the giver and receiver continue to exchange their energies as one body, mind and spirit.
