York Region has never followed Toronto’s lead. Hours of business? No limits. Holistic provider licensing? Who needs it? Hopefully saner heads prevail & they dont drive them underground or to leave Toronto. Many incalls & agencies ooerate in Toronto with no controls at all.

Richmond Hill , Markham are the red light districts of the GTA ,anything can be had , upscale or low life , some in political positions are reaping the rewards

i notice you don’t mention Cedar Spa in the recently closed spa listings, but when I look it up, it says closed.

I'm not sure why one or two buildings are being singled out.
Are the Asian massage spas too visible?
The plaza at 10 East Wilmot is quite secluded and could take on a couple more spas if necessary.

I don’t think one or two spas in a building complex is an issue. It’s when you have like 5 or 6 spas in a single complex along with normal businesses that is a problem.

There is a dog grooming business, restaurant, and indoor golf in the 10 East Wilmot complex.

According to KJ - it’s the zoning that these two buildings are in - they exclude body rub licenses but somehow the zoning for 160 EBC permits it. I haven’t been able to find out the zoning but I do know that 160 EBC does have some zoning exclusions - just haven’t had time to look.

Doesnt 10 wilmont already have like 4 spas operating in that small plaza ? ... i was wondering what the legit business owners thought about that

At least 2 of those spas are already for sale, Crystal Spa and See You, according to @Lalallala

There are some spas that are selling. Specifically to mind are Crystal Spa and See You Spa - two holistic spots that are unlikely to make any effort to meet bylaw requirements. There could be others that are being shopped around on the down low - like IU/BU has seen some management changes but not sure how much or what extent.

I heard 129 spas got the March notice.
That number only makes sense if spas outside of Richmond Hill are included.

If that’s the case, how come spas outside of RH haven’t changed their practices very much?

Perhaps your number includes legit spas. The crackdown had nothing to do with sexual services, it was about zoning first, then licensing second. A legit spa like F2B in 155 East Beaver Creek is still in the wrong zone.
