I haven't visited any spas for a long time and currently thinking of giving it a go. Do they need vaccine passports for entry and services?

Spas are are part of the "personal care" sphere of businesses in Ontario, and they are currently exempt from requiring clients to provide proof of vaccination.

There are a few potential exceptions as to why they could technically ask regardless, but in the overwhelming majority of spas you would not be asked to present proof of vaccination.

Nevertheless, you should do the spa girls and everyone else a favour and get fully vaccinated ASAP if you haven't already.

I'm not mentioning names but, a receptionist at a Spa told me she wasn't vaccinated. So, to answer your question, it seems they care more about your money, than whether you're vaccinated. Very sad.

Personal choice? Yes. There still isn't a law that says everyone must be vaccinated. But I say, there probably should be. We don't live in the Wild West. That's why we have rules and regulations such as traffic signals and stop signs. It's time for governments to step in and say, vaccinations are as important as traffic rules.

Even if you are fully vaccinated you should be aware that there are many girls who work at the spas who are either completely unvaccinated or have only had one shot.

even if the law requires the spa to check proof of vacinnation, i can guarantee most if not all will not check for the fear or losing customers. Customers want to conduct their business in discreet manner. They don't need the spas know their personal information such as their full name and stuff.

I'm surprised that those who are fearful of the virus are even on these boards and even go see the girls. I mean, not all will get the shot and chances are very unlikely that every single person they interact with will have gotten the shot themselves. It doesn't make sense at all. That last line is powerful and screwed up at the same time. From what I read, the ones that tested positive for this new "variant" in Africa all had their injections. So does that mean injections work or not? Do they prevent mutations? Asking for a friend.

Just curious if anyone knows the risk of getting infected from a vaccinated person is greater or less than the risk of getting infected from a non vaccinated person? Neutral question- not picking sides here. Always wondered and cannot locate stats on any web sites. Thanks

The risk of transmission is lower between two fully vaxed but it’s not impossible. I think we need to put things in perspective. Seeing an MPA with or without a mask on counts as a close contact. If you see an MPA who has Covid , you are going to be exposed. That doesn’t mean you will become infected, but it means it’s possible. The vaccines would reduce probability but not to 0…by a long shot. Lots of factors at play. But Given the volume of customers seen by a typical MPA, my guess is that many will have been exposed to Covid . One would hope they don’t come to work if symptomatic. Equally one would hope clients don’t visit if symptomatic. The temperature screen counts as something , but I Would not say it’s fool proof. I am not making any judgments about visiting MPs , I’m saying there’s risk beyond the usual risk of catching an sti, especially For clients with young kids who are not yet double vaxed or older relatives with whom they’re in close contact
