USUALLY OCTOBER ISNT SO WETwww.alexmalcolm.net.....ITS THE END OF THE RAINY SEASON......BUT IF MY MEMORY IS RIGHT .IT WAS VERY WET LASY YEAR......BOTH C&N AND THE ORCHID ARE NICE........BOTH SHOULD BE IN THE REGION OF 500 TO 700 BAHT........YOU SHOUD EMAIL ALL THE HOTELS AND TELL THEM YOU STAY FOR A LONG TIME AND ASK THEM FOR DISCOUNT..........
I USUALLY DONT EAT BREAKFAST..........
I JUST HAVE SOME FRESH JUICE AND A DOOUGNUT WHEN I GET UP AT MIDDAY........THEN A LITE LUNCH AROUND 3 O CLOCK........
THEN DINNER AT 8-9........
PLENTY OF GOOD RESTEANTS AROUND PATONG ........

October 2003 was a wet month, very wet. Even more disappointing was the lack of sunny days and October 2003 was a month we would rather forget about. Statistically speaking we had 25 days with some sort of rain, the wettest days being 2, 5, 6, 16, 19 and 20 October when we had rain almost all day. The best of the sunny days were 8, and from 23 - 28 October. Most days were calm to medium rough at the beach, with only from 5 – 7 October having quite rough seas at the beach

I have only good things to say about The Orchid residence... Stayed there many times. Good service, nice staff, really nice rooms. Imho it's better than c&n... Just try to get a room on the Soi Sansabai side since there is a BIG building project going on on the opposite side and they stop working late and starts early...

No bigger difference between deluxe rooms and superior. Just the bathtub as far as I´ve noticed... Taking a bath in a bathtub is not my cup of tea so i always save that 100-200 baht for an extra beer or two...

Thanks for the info on Slovakia. I've always found Eastern European women to be extremely attractive. But anytime the charge is by the hour, it is a turnoff for me. Altho if it was that cheap here, I'm sure my horniness would occasionally get me over that objection. Still, all in all, it just makes me appreciate LOS that much more. Even if it is "all about the money," TGs still like to have fun, they don't charge by the hour, and they know how to make you feel like it isn't all about the money. Chop Meung Thai!! :cheers:

i intend to go in october probably last two weeks...
i wrote c&n - they replied room charge is 600,- in low season and r "no fee guest-friendly" :ytounge:
orchid shows 580,- for standard room, but they dont show the standard one on their web page.
1. dont u know the difference ???
2. to ask the discount, what would be the minimum stay to do so ???

Yes I think Orchid is better... In every way. But that's me...
It's also closer to Soi Bangla... Ok C&N is close too.. But Orchid is closer...

I've never stayed in a standard room, only looked inside..... I recommend a superior.

Not sure what the minimum is but I stayed two weeks in May and it was 600 the only reason Jonny is paying 500 is he booked for one month and haggled with them over the price.

This is the C&N we are talking about otherwise disregard this post.

Not really a minimum, everything is negotiable in LOS, unusual to accept first price. The longer you stay the more you are in a position to discount.

Say if you stay 4 weeks in PS or C&N hotel in low season, they may quote you about 600 baht per night but 500-550 baht is possible

If you do by phone make sure you get your offer in writing e.g. fax or e mail or you may find a different price from agreed when you get there!!!

Orchid Residence is run by a German and very Guest-friendly.
I stayed there about 15 times and never had any problems.

Regarding CNN Hotel,

I talked with OzSkin (BM) yesterday and I asked how much he paid for CNN and he told me 500 baht, he stay for just one week or something.
