The fact that Suko cannot have every room with showers have probably something to do with this. It was rumored that Mei's Spa in Burlington when they applied for the renovation permit, they indicated that every room with have a sink - hence the plumbing was approved. The showers were put in later. Again heresay.

Some spa owners shave already managed to have a RMT or Acupunture lic holders in place but the Bylaw need every employee to have lic as well which is quite impossible.

Total shut down ? That happened 20 yrs ago because of some criminal elements such as Motor cycle gangs , human trafficking and drugs were involved.
This time, it's all about zoning and licensing. I spoke to some spa owners and they said they have already seeked legal advice to give a reasonable grace period of 6 months or so to align their businesses with City's bylaw. Giving a short notice of 2-3 weeks to shut down 20-30 businesses? I doubt that will happen. I heard most spas will keep on running with limited service and willing to pay the fines until some settlement is reached.

Zoning and getting the proper permits take time. Hopefully the grace period is granted. Some of the owners that I spoke to are really stressed out and all I can tell them at this time is to consult a lawyer.

If they’re in individually owned units that they’re tenants of, building owner will be hard pressed to lease the space in this economic climate. I doubt any would put their neck out to help.

Not really. The city inspector came over and checked EBW in late February . I showed them all the shower rooms and told him, there was no digging and no knocking down of any wall, we just installed portable shower stalls using pumps in the existing rooms. He said so long as we don't change the lay out of the floor plan, it's fine. He took a few pictures and told us we should have applied the permit to install the weather room at the front entrance. We never hear back anything after that.

Complete renovation and forming rooms is a different story. They fined SL about 10k a few yrs back, and don't know how much fine they slapped BU after stopping their renovation for a few months for doing reno without permit.

City can't expect the receptionist to be a rmt. I guess you are out of work, old man. Your retirement savings will take a hit with fewer shilling jobs .



I know some girls are reaching out to spas in Toronto. The spas expect the girls to have the body rub license.

I don't know what will happen next month, all I know is I will be out on the golf courses soon. I went and played a round in simulator 2 days ago and this morning. I shot 3 - 4 over par but I am losing another 20 yds or so again this yr. I am losing 15 - 20 yds every year. Getting old is no good man.

Yeah, like Mei's just a raised platform for the shower, then slope the drain (in the platform) over to the sink drain. Do digging required.

I went through the ego stage trying for distance but injuries taught me to take it easy and concentrate on being accurate. Once while playing in a hickory stick tournament, an 85 year old guy kicked our ass just by hitting straight.

True Story. The National is one of the toughest course here in Ontario. Many years ago, 2 pros were here to qualify for the Canadian Open. They played the National on the Sunday before Monday qualifying. They played the tips. Both of them did not even break 90.
When I was playing to a 5 Handicap, the first time I played the National from the Blue tips I was unable to break 90.
