So..., hopefully I’m not the only one thinking this after purusing your Kijiji Ad. I’ve had an inkling desire to get a pedicure and facial (shut up perv’s).
You seem to have quite the varied combo options.
How do feel about bearded dudes with rough nails looking for a little pampering and maybe a massage to put put it over the edge?
Just putting this out there. My crows feet and cuticles could use some attention.

I'm still working on my website but I will have a mens spa menu up.
All services are unisex but the mens spa treatments are either unscented or have masculine scent or themes, just in case smelling like lavender and roses isn't your thing.

Just to clarify because I have received a couple of concerned messages about my policies.
I require all massage therapy clients to fill out a confidential health history for upon their first visit.... on this form clients put there name and contact info. I request ID.....why you may ask?
I get all clients men, women for massage, skin care anything... to fill out a form.

Well being an RMT I am required to be diligent in my record keeping. Keeping health history forms and s.o.a.p notes on treatments. These are kept in a locked file cabinet for my eyes only. This information is used for your safety, so I can provide safe and effective treatments. They are also to cover my ass in professional malpractice & liability situations. If you require receipts for insurance, I need this info for that also.

Now the ID part.... I request ID to verify the information you provided to be truthful. I take down a driver's license number also.
This is for my safety.
In the past I had clients not fill out info completely or truthfully, this became an issue when one assaulted me. And I've had a couple leave without paying, which is stealing from a business.

So... if you show ID for a pack of smokes or whatever... I'm sure you can show ID for a healthcare professional.
If you feel like you have something to hide like your real name, then I'm not the RMT for you.

All RMTs are required to keep records. I'm curious how all these shady type rmt places are keeping records and well it's going suck if they're handing out receipts are audited by their professional association. We're also required to meet continuing education requirements, wonder if they're doing that also.

Anyways... that's my rant. That's my policy. Take it or leave it

Although that scares the crap out many, I want to assume your diligence in safety and proper documentation is for the sake of our benefits and your lisence, as well to add security in an industry very much devoid of assurances. And most importantly that you value discretion and honour “patient / client privilege”.
I commend your approach and your added value to this forum, as well as the Massage profession as a whole.
I know there are many RMT’s that fight the good fight advertising on Kijiji and CL trying to erk a living out of this PROFESSION with professional services; and there are us “boys” with our needs and expectations dirived from ladies with more options (and less scruples).
My point is, I enjoy the massage so much more than the rest, though I may crave the extras more than the massage. This paradox leads to weekly ebb’s and flows of emotion, demanding from myself a true understanding of what I really want.
I may never really know, but what I do understand is that the experience of TOUCH, is only really satisfying when both parties are truly comfortable, Not just to a point of client and therapist, but when both feel as comfortable as they would sharing time with a good friend.
I know and hope many will agree, this sort of friendship is earned not through money but by being honest, forthright, and simply by being a good person.

Thanks L2M- I have even more respect for you now. As a professional I would expect you to keep notes on my treatment so that when I return you know what my problems/preferences are.

And the liability and safety concerns are certainly real. Just don't put security cams in the treatment room, OK??
