Looking for Used Light Massage Table

Hey all!

I'm doing more house calls than usual and need to invest in a lightweight table.

The Oakworks one in my treatment room is 9 years old and 42 lbs and the constant taking down and porting it about is wearing on it. I want it to last a while as it cost me $600 back in 98!

So anyway, I'm looking for one of those light, 23 lb tables, used if possible. I can't afford the $700 some are asking for it.

Have you looked into an Earthlite Harmony? Its lightweight (I used to do outcalls, too) Its very easy to set up & take down. And not expensive. Only drawback is its not as thick as I want a massage table to be, so I always took my fleece cover with me, too. Ive had mine for 5 yrs now.

Got a Sam's Club near you? Or try http://www.samsclub.com! About 10 days ago I bought one from Sam's Club... it's the Duralite by Fitmaster.
I had them get it down from the shelf they were displaying it on. Pushed against it, leaned into it, checked the legs and construction of the face cradle, then lifted it up and found it to be much lighter than the table I had at home! I eyed the 2 women who had gotten it down... and considered asking one to lay down so I could judge what it would be like to give a massage when one said, "You're a masseuse aren't you?" (Gee, what gave it away?) :biglaugh:

It's only available in Burgundy @ Sam's Club but the table runs about $240 and it's a 27 lb table with face cradle and arm rest (plus carrying bag)! It's 29 inches compared to my Earthlite Avalon (30 inches, I believe 37 lbs, but 10 years old next month!)
Last year I weighed my table, face cradle and case and the other things I take to every outcall... and found out that I had been hauling over 60 lbs to my outcalls for years! (Frankly, I think I'm getting to old to do that anymore. LOL)
I've used the new Duralite to give 3 massages so far and my clients are liking the new table just as much or even more than the old one! (It has a little more padding and seems to be even more "squishy" and comfortable, therefore I don't have to take extra padding to make my old table a little more comfy! Cutting down even more on weight!
I'll be honest, the lighter (yet inexpensive) table, has really rekindled my excitement about doing my work with my outcall clients. I have an iPod Nano and iHome2go to use when clients can't provide music for the session as well. So, I don't have to carry as many CDs.
I'm now looking for other ways to cut down on what I carry! :

I have a Sam's club nearby but don't belong to it. I do have a Costco membership though. I wonder if it's similar?

I don't see a lighter table offered at Costco though. If you do have a Sam's Club in your area, it might be worth the price of joining... or maybe you have a friend who belongs to Sam's Club and could give you a guest pass so you could check out the table and see if it was worth joining for you?
A business membership with them is only $35 and they also carry other massage supplies, and of course lots of other things one might need for a business. *shrug*
You can check out the table online by going to http://www.samsclub.com and typing in massage table... it will bring up several and you can look for the Duralite there.
Otherwise you might look into the Master Massage Table's website... and see about how much it would cost to have it shipped to you (I believe they're located in Chicago.)
My sister down in Alabama belongs to both Costco and Sam's Club. But to my knowledge Costco hasn't made it to Wisconsin yet... LOL
Hope you find a reasonably priced and lighter massage table! I know it's made a pretty big difference for me!

Was in Costco here in FL a few weeks ago & they indeed had a table. I didn't go over it *really* well, but I did notice it only had 2 smallish hinges instead of the long piano hinge.

Also, the massage stuff they have at Sam's club online they don't have in the stores, at least not in the one in Jax, FL

The table (with it's face cradle, arm rest etc) is the only thing available at Sam's Club stores. The other massage supplies I believe are online only.
But I believe I've heard from someone on the board here that the face cradle covers leave something to be desired.
Not sure if anyone from MassagePlanetL has tried the table warmer or other supplies.

Was that 27 lbs including the accessories on it? I have a table that claims to be 32 lbs, but with the accessories it makes it go to 39.6. If your table is 27 lbs total, that would be the bomb!

Ocean, you know I've never weighed it. It's in the car right now as I have to go do an outcall in a few minutes, but will try to get it weighed for you in the next day or so with face cradle. I don't normally use the arm rest... but I can weigh that separately for you if you like.

Finally weighed my Duralite by Fitmaster.

Table itself without face cradle weighs: 27.8 lbs
Table with face cradle weighs: 29.8 lbs
Table with face cradle and arm rest weighs: 32.4 lbs
Table with face cradle in case weighs: 32.8 lbs
Table with face cradle and arm rest in case weighs: 35.8 lbs

I don't take the arm rest to do outcalls.
So that means to do outcalls I am carrying out 32.8 lbs.
While that is more than the 27 lbs that or so that was listed on the box, it's really the same for my old massage table too. (Earthlite Avalon - listed at 37 lbs)... while it says it's a certain weight, by the time you get a face cradle and a case added to that it's weighing more as well. As I recall it's up around 40 lbs with a face cradle and case.

It may not seem like a big deal but I've found just a few pounds lighter does make a difference in how I feel. (Or how often I need to see the chiro!)
