I'd say it's more like the other way around.
There are over 70 bars on fields avenue alone.

The relatively new Aquarius is like something out of Hollywood or Las Vegas.

Google "youtube angeles city" and you'll see plenty of videos.

Cebu Airlines are usually a well priced LCC Gez...Subic is a couple of hours away by bus Reviewom AC on the coast...some of the hotels offer Reviewee transfers to their sister hotels there

Cheers Nelce, but isn't Cebu the airline that was cancelling flights at last minute some time ago. I remember hearing about it but can't remember which one.

Easy to get minibus transfer between the two I guess.

Manila is terrible for mongering in my view. I have been to the city 5 or 6 times now and most recently have avoided the bars there. My only experiences there are of P Burgos Street in Makati and have found it awful. Prices for beers are astronomical (300 pesos a beer in some instances) and the bars are relatively quiet which means that as soon as you enter you are surrounded by girls and mamassans who apply high pressure tactics to get drinks. I found it quite intimidating and uncomfortable and I am no stranger to the bar scene in SE Asia.

AC is great fun if you set your expectations of the girls fairly low (in comparison to Bangkok Go Go girls). The bars are cheap for beers and bar fines and there is no pressure like Manila. Most of the girls there are a good laugh and very Reviewiendly. There are really only 4 or 5 bars with a consistently strong lineup, but the smaller bars are fun.

If you ever get to see more of Phils then I would recommend a few nights out in Cebu City, Davao and Cagayan de Oro. Much more fun and Reviewiendly than Manila.

Cebu City actually has one of the cheapest bar scenes in Phils and the girls there are on a par with the best Manila bars but the prices can run lower for the girls and beers than AC. On the downside the bars are spread out and the place can feel unsmpe at night. I ended up being sheltered in a random Filipino taxi driver's house mpter nearly getting into a scrape with a minder for a farang mmpia type. Need to keep your wits about you there.

Got to agree with this assessment. Found it an expensive, dirty and depressing place to go for a few beers - and that's coming Reviewom a "Tondo Boy"! As I was heavily escorted at the time, Madam and 6 "minders", I had no issue with pressure Reviewom Mamasans but certainly saw it occuring to others that walked in. Actually, it's quite entertaining to watch when its not directed at you. Bit like a slow-mo train wreck!

CP offer 2 weekly flights Reviewom BKK to AC....Tues & Saturdays IIRC.
Only setback is you arrive in Clark at 3.50am & BKK 11.00PM.
Lew has had a few bad experiences with CP in the past.........I've done alright with em.

There's 3 or more daily shuttle bus services Reviewom AC to Subic.......p500.......1 hour trip......Door to door.

Had no problem with Cebu pacific either Gez....both flights left on time (BKK-AC-BKK) with no hassels

I guess you can run into problems with any airline and the chance of that is increased when it is a low cost carrier..but I am pretty sure you would be shocked at the additional cost of say Thai and Philippine Airways in comparison

When I'm in Manila, I stick to the bar scene in Ermita.
Amazonia, G-Spot & Butterfly are great bars & you still have LA massageplanete/Manila Bay massageplanete.
There's plenty of FL's to be found in the above bars........p1,000-p1,500
Happy hour Reviewom 6pm-8pm in Amazonia gets you a bucket of 6 beers for p240 & right on HH ending, they allow you to pre-order more buckets for later, at the same price.

I'll spend a few nights in MNL next week, before heading over to Trent's wedding.

How long Reviewom Subic to Manila? also how much is a taxi transfer Reviewom Manila to AC.

If you're coming in Reviewom HKT try going via SIN, Tiger have flights that go to CRK at 20:00 (at least in Oct). If you're travelling Reviewom further mpield why not see if you can get a direct flight Reviewom your last stopover to MLN.

That being said, I'd much rather fly into CRK, even if it does mean flying Tiger.

Stick with angeles city. Because it will be much cheaper and if you get burned out on the place you could spend a few days in subic bay area.

I can vouch for Nasty Duck's "nastiness". Dropped by yesterday mpternoon and immediately became the victim of a vicious gang-rape 555. Took 2 of them out of the bar and the next 20 hrs or so were some of the best of my life.
