Don't know whether the review board is the appropriate place, except that many more eforum.xxxites read this section than some of the General areas of the board (I know that I tend to ignore them).

There has been an ad circulating on Kijiji from a girl claiming to be a 21-yr old masseuse in some sort of desperate need for money (one ad said to buy a car)...and asking for $2000.
I will not post the link, you can do your own word search...

A buddy of mine did a preliminary inquiry and she was not very forthcoming as to what she really needed the money for, nor would she tell him where she worked (hey, when I went for a loan, even to Nicodemo in St-Leonard, he wanted to know where I worked)....so, fellow eforum.xxxites, if in a fit of drunken stupor you decide you wish to brighten a young masseuse's day, be prepared to lose your $2k faster than Bill Wishnousky's (or Earl Jones/Vincent Lacroix/Mike Bossy/Tony Tiberi et al of the financial planning scoundrels) daughter can bring her gf off.

If she is in desperate need of $2000, and she is a masseuse already then she should have no trouble raising that amount of money in a week or 10 days. All she has to do is to offer a cut rate deal on the internet for her services. Lets say $75 for a thai massage. if she did 5 a day she could raise the $2 k in a week. It sounds like a scam to me. Never mix business with pleasure. In this case never mix pleasure with business.

My buddy loves to string along scammers like the Nigerian Princes and the pen salesmen...so he was able to get a few more details from her, whether they are true or not who knows. That she recently moved here from Southern Ontario in order to learn French, that she is about 5'7" and slim, and that she works at some place in Cote-des-Neiges (but no name or exact location, even though my friend said he would like to "make an appointment and sample her services and contribute to her development fund"...anyone have an idea as to who this might be?

That is exactly what I am saying, she is trying to scam people. If she urgently needs the money she can get it in about a week.

Not just the massage girls pulling that ruse...this wily old bat, Trudy, at the Bonora Restaurant in NDG asked all her regulars to spot her tips for the month...got maybe $20-$25 from a number of them...and then disappeared.

Imagine if they are asking, then they are in deep shit already. Even if they fully intend to honor their commitment they are still borrowing from tommorow. If tommorow turns out o be just as bad, then they are just diggig themselves in a deeper hole. Is the economy that bad that masseuses and waitresses are asking fror advance tips just to get by?

You can't realy make judgements on scant details, it may be either situations or another situation. It just shows you that things are not well with them.

When I first read this post, I was convinced that it was meant as a joke. But with all the eforum.xxxites who have taken time to add their 2 cents,I'm not so sure.

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase often credited to P.T. Barnum.. It is generally taken to mean that there are (and always will be) a lot of gullible people in the world. Well, I don't know about the world, but there's no doubt that the fact that the scam has been given the dignity of being discussed in this forum and considered as a real possibility is a loud testament to the number of suckers to be found among eforum.xxxites.

Hey, guys! Get a life and spend your hard-earned money on some real live action. There's none better to be found than right here in our town....and at a whole lot less than $2000.

Whether it was a "joke" or not, the ad was there on Kijiji, do a search, it was posted as of 07Sep09 and there were a few other posts from the same person in the days preceding.

My buddy's inquiries received a response from an email address showing the name of a "Julie Hall", and as regards the Southern Ontario reference, there is a Julie Hall shown as "Kitchener,ON" on Facebook.

You vastly over-estimate how much girls make per week. It depends upon the girl (how good looking, what services), how much the house takes as a cut, how busy the parlour is, and so on.

Let's say Sally clears $40 for a handjob, titties out. Thats 50 topless handjobs, or 100 with top.

She can probably do no more than 7 in an 8-hour shift.
