Privacy is understandable especially in your line of work. As a customer, I don't want my colleague or friend to know i visit spas.

Having said that are you concern that you will be like Belle Knox (in the sense that somebody you know found out your occupation and spread the words to the people you know)?

Until I finish school and don't bring in a negative income I'm also happy in my regular field so I don't think I'll pursue that.

You seem like a well rounded smart girl. Set a goal. Get it done and call it quit. I have seen it all. This industry is like a trap. Once you get in, it is very hard to get out.

Really appreciate you creating this thread and quite frankly, it's been a breath of fresh air compared to the usual degradation on this forum. Hopefully our paths will cross one day once things are back to semi-normal at least.

Is it just me or are you having serious spa withdrawals?

First off, thank you very much for starting this thread.
I drove a taxi for a couple of summers during university. With a lot of exposure to people I quickly acquired the ability to size them up - without even seeing a person's face I could tell by the way they got in the cab if there was any danger, the mood the person was in, how much tip I would get, if the person wanted to talk or be quiet. Wait staff develop the same instincts. It is an ability that I did not have outside of the cab. At this point in your journey can you tell right away what kind of experience you will have with a client and if you are in danger?

How can a girl apply to work in a spa? Do they just send a photo of themselves to the spa they wanted to work for?

damn thats crazy. i know there are some real crazies in this city ( @Ursus ) but most of us are normal . i have another question - have you ever considered the money good enough to just quit school and do this as a fulltime career? also you dont have to answer this, but what do you pull a month on average? 3k - 10k?

At some point in every MPA career, the thought crosses to pursue this full-time. However, this particular job is not very sustainable and the gap in resume can really close doors. I’m fortunate to use this job now as a jumping-off point for my non-spa career.

I agree, customer service is a really great learning experience! My policy in work and in life is to never judge a book by its cover. A client that may come across as rude or quiet may just be having a bad day or really shy. However, if behaviour crosses the line, I am always vigilant and won’t hesitate to end a session. Thankfully, that has very rarely happened. Most people I’ve met have left a positive impact on me.

The last farewell is always bittersweet. I’m sad our time has ended but at the same time, I’m happy for them to have moved on to bigger and better things!

All of those aspects of the job appeal to me. It’s an escape from reality and balances out my otherwise proper life.

When I go to an MPA I have a checklist: shower, shave, brush teeth, dress neatly, cut finger and toe nails, leave pocket knife, cell phone, wallet in car or at home, bring sufficient cash plus a little extra, make sure I am in a good mood, be friendly and respectful with the MPA but say what I am looking for upfront (leave without rancor if we do not agree on service and price). Is there anything you would like to add to the list?

You sound like you like what you are doing. That is good. One of my fav told me she loves sex and this job suits her very well. Getting laid and getting paid, nothing wrong with that is what she told me...lol.

Hey Coolcat, just check out Whitesnake's posting history and you can easily find out what kind of a person snake is. Snake is a very confused jealous hater who was poorly raised and never been loved by anyone.
