Im definitely with you on that one steve. Kangaroo is a great place to go at the start of the night for eye candy purposes. As is P-One bar next door (I think). I believe they are both owned by the same Thai guy who is a genuine and nice guy. 2 very nice drinking establishments in Patong IMHO.

Bedroom is a trip! Weird building and have heard only one dinner service per evening. Except you are lying on these fabulous couches. Kicking myself for not checking it out. Right around the corner is the aforementioned QBar. Next time, I'm gonna check out both of these places, not only for the gals, but for the experience and atmosphere.

I stayed at a nice hotel called President Solitaire right around the corner from these places (end of Soi 11). It's also not far from the Beer Garden and a 10 minute walk from Nana. The German restaurant down the street has a good cheap breakfast and a nice place for people watching.

The hotel is not cheap (but not bad for the dough-about $75 US), but you get a kick ass suite and a 50" plasma. Quite the view of BKK and a swimming pool with underwater speakers. Truly one of the finer hotels I have stayed in and close to lots of nightlife.

Unless you are under 5'6", have 'buck teeth', a rather jaundiced complexion, and can tape your eyes back sideways, you have no show !!!

My advise to you is to spend some time in Bangkok before moving down to Phuket. I always catch the local bus from the Airport to Nana Plaza. I think the number of the Bus is 'A3'.

The driver will tell you when to get off in Sukhumvit Road, and you just walk about 100 - 200 yards in the same direction as the Bus route, and you come across Soi 7. That is where the famous Eden Club is situated.

I have stayed for the past two years in a Hotel called 'World Inn', diagonally across from the Eden Club. Not luxurious, but at least reasonably clean.

The Eden Club has a yellow line from the doorway entrance, right along the floor, up the bar and up the wall. I believe it is run by a Frenchman whom I have never met.

The main rule with this place is that you have a minimum of 2 women together. It is better to pick one you really fancy, and let her pick one of her friends.

The yellow line, on the floor in the entrance, by the way, indicates, depending upon the side of the line they are situated, which of the ladies will 'go that extra mile' in various areas.

Possibly by visiting here first, you might be a little more 'enlightened' by the time you get to Phuket.

I assume you are talking about the hotel, not the Bedroom Club.

If so, I think you'll be happily surprised about the hotel. It's a serviced apartment actually. Or it sure seems to be more apartment-like than a standard hotel room. But MAN! Is it PLUSH! It's an oasis in the cacaphony of Sukhumvit. At around 40 quid a night, and so close to the nightlife, you cannot go wrong. The studios are nice, but when I said I'd be back to BKK after heading to Phuket but was looking for a deal--they suggested upgrading me to a suite at the same price. WOW! Am I glad I did that. Just a killer deal. If I were on leave from dusty Iraq, this place will suit you so well.

If you met a high end cutie at QBar just around the corner, she would be mightily impressed! If you were wondering, this place is also OK for girls (no trouble for butterflies like you D-man!), but my TG got a bit of a rude stare 'cause they thought she was a BG. Ah Well! LOL. I won out 'cause she really loved the place and I felt I could entertain her properly in a place where we could cook, watch movies on the huge plasma and sit in the living area with great views of BKK. The bed itself is huge, comfy and plush with tons of pillows. Lots of small touches kitted throughout: dishes, hot water boiler, full sized fridge, 2 burner stove, cloth napkins + more.

There's also the Ananda Spa attached to the Hotel, which is one of those high end spa places with the works. I found two other massage places nearby which were the standard cheaper places...but hey, if you wanna go whole hog with the spa experience (I almost relented), it's there for you.

Two things that might get your goat:
The elevator has a mind of its own sometimes.
It's a full 10 minute walk to Sukhumvit/Nana/Eden/Beer Garden - if that's on your agenda.

The porter will cruise you up there in the hotel's electric cart though. Just give him a small tip. The SkyTrain station is right there if you need to go elsewhere.

You have to be careful because there are some other not as nice places with the name "President" in the title on Soi 11 (Grand President). You definitely want the one at the end of Soi 11 with the precise name, "President Solitaire". I actually made the mistake of going to the wrong place. :mad2:

I remember in July I had a girl from a gogo who charged me about 3500

Eric is referring to a bar in Patong where the girls are always dressed like tarts and they dance on the bar acting horny all the time. They are very popular and always in demand. 5,000 baht is the mug punter price. Pay that and they are happy. Normally they will go with you for between 1,000 to 2,000 baht.
One of my good friends had Joy stay with him for a week. How much did she charge him? Nothing! She even bought HIM some things (using the mug punters 5,000 probably!). Why would she do this? To try and sucker him for a big lump of baht later.
What will the girls do differently if you give them 5,000 instead of 1,000? Answer - probably laugh and smile a bit more inside themselves, but the sex will be the same.

Trust me. It doesnt work the same way in Thailand like it does in 'white man land'. Just because you pay more, it doesnt mean you will get better service or quality. Take for example buying a t-shirt from one of the market stalls.
The way YOU look at things, when you ask the price and they say '600 baht for t-shirt' you would think 'Ok, good quality'. If you waited for 5 minutes and saw the next person buying one, they might haggle the price to 100 baht. Same t-shirt.
If you are going to blow 5,000 on a girl, I would rather try 5 different ones at 1,000 baht and hope to find a one who does the works, than risk it all on one who might turn out to be a starfish.

I reckon we each have our own opinion on who is a 8/10 Darbs! I'm not sure how I would differenciate between one girl and another that is 'slightly' better! It's all up to us, the individual IMHO. Your 8/10 might be another blokes 5/10 or vice versa!

As for a Telly in my room! Who goes to these places to watch TV? The bath yes, but for 3500 Baht I would be asking them to keep the telly and throw in another girl?

In my wicked, warped way I see those windows has having "Skint" or "Loaded" signs above them for us the punters! Otherwise, why have them? If we had the Mulah, Wad, Cash and Shekels, we would all just go straight to the window marked "Loaded" everytime! If I'm correct, he said 40 quid -- aka 40 UK pounds -- which is more like $US70. I have stayed at the Solitaire and it's a good place. My TG found the pool much too cold because it is in shade for much of the day, but she LOVED the plasma TV too much.

A minor quibble is that the walls are a little thin. You can hear the boom sing from neighboring rooms ... although I dare say some people like that kind of thing.

When I stayed there I also got a voucher for a massage at the spa downstairs, but it had just opened so I suspect it was a special deal for a short period only.
