but my point was that Nam Pla, who has shown nothing but to be a good poster here since he joined, posted something and because it is one of our friends, it was immediately replied to that it was heresay and would be taken down if not proved
but some bm we never even heard of posts a story( granted in 1st person but there was also a 1st person account on the this thread) and doesn't get the same reaction
i also didn't see anyone saying "ffs guys, it's a bar in thailand, you can't expect 1st class service"

i just think this board has become way too cliquey. and i will admit, i have been a benefit of it from times when people have stuck up for me in a debate with other bm's.
but as i said, it has become where you can't even dare say anything bad about a bm's company and what is really the harm? if RAW didn't make the post quitting the board, the thread would have been overly positive about SW and Crazy Girls

look at Dan Boy's mature response when someone criticized Summer Breeeze. instead of accusing the poster or getting defensive, DB pointed out all that is good about SB and told the poster all that good would far outweigh any of the negatives the poster felt on his initial impression

by the way, all of this is coming from someone who always makes it a point to frequent BM owned businesses so i certainly want all these businesses to do well, but as a consumer, i also expect them to be on a level playing field and i don't think as business owners, they should expect anything less from a customer

i wouldn't call cutting a deal with the touts to work in his other bars bravery but there is little he can do except do what he is doing and as you said, go to those go-gos that don't use the touts

Please read the above post (and my original post). I related info given me by a trusted friend, just as I said. I never slammed the bar, never suggested that anyone avoid going there, fully disclosed that the info was passed on by a friend, and that I hadn't been there in years. I don't know the owner and don't/didn't know that he's a BM. That shouldn't enter into the equation anyway. If you really want to know the scoop, go there and find out for yourself. Most likely you'll have a very pleasant experience as many here have stated they've had.

Hearsay? Everything you read here is technically hearsay, in one way or another. Take what you read here for whatever it's worth. Nothing you'll ever read on this forum (or anywhere!) can really be considered 100% confirmed, can it?

As for me, I'm not in the business of slamming anyone's business. I pass on info here based on my experiences just like anyone else. People will believe what they want anyway. It's up to you. Personally, I'd rather have more info than I need, and decide for myself, than take any one person's word for anything anyway.

I still drink around the suburbs of KL ....but 5 mugs Guinness draught cost around 55 ringgit.....Tiger draught 1 jug (4 mugs) is still around 35 to 37 ringgit but this is happy hour price.

RAW and I have communicated through a few PMs and he was appreciative of my efforts to put things right/apologise, and he sees no need to withdraw the post, although I am quite willing to ask the mods to do it, if I knew how?

More to the point is the fact that after his initial "angry" e-mail which I quite understand because it appears that this mistake has happened quite frequently, he also apologised for his e-mail. Now in my mind, that speaks volumes about the man, and the fact that he was probably at his wits end.

He also explained what he has had to go through in order to keep the touts away from two of his clubs, whilst compromising his position and allowing them in his others. When the police are indirectly/directly involved in the tout business, then although he has compromised his position somewhat, he is very brave (in my opinion) to stick by his principles, knowing who is behind this whole thing.

On another note, he fears for his safety because of the action he took with regard to a tout selling an illegal substance in his bar. Sticking by what he believes, or least coming up with a workable solution, I think he deserves all the business we can possibly give him, and I for one will be paying a few visits with friends of mine over the coming weeks.

FWIW, and my memory is very hazy on this, I think I`ve been in SW twice, once a dancer sat next to me looking for LD, I politely said no, I was drinking not looking for company, no problem she moved elsewhere, the drinks were about 20 baht over a beer bar which is reasonable.

Well I thought I'd do a 'mystery shopper' cruise into SW last night to get a first hand steer on what may be going on. It's not a place I frequent, probably last in there a year ago so I have no hidden agendas in this report. After conducting anti-surveillance drills through Cocktails and Dreams I encountered no touts on Sea Dragon- maybe my steely eyed dealer of death glare scares them off or I am so scruffy they pass. Into SW and it was booming- one girl seemed to take a bit too much interest in her job- beating the crap out of a guy who was lapping it up!! No pressure, no rigged bills and a Tiger was B130. All in all a hassle free experience and no rip-offs. I will probabl pop in more now as it was fun.

Ta los but as it turned out I actually met the mamasan when we stopped in at another venue before going back to loom. She sat with us briefly brought her own drink and had quite a good chat about what goes on. Ive never come across something quite so above board since I first started coming here.

A good friend just told me last night he went to SW's on Saturday. He's a regular visitor here, and a regular visitor to SW's when he's here. He went in (he said no touts "escorted" him), asked the price of a beer (just as a regular precaution), and was told ฿500. He got up to leave, and was "verbally challenged" (stupid farang, keenieow, etc., etc.) by the bartender and another employee on his way out. He knew better than to get into an argument with them, and just walked out.

Says he'll never go in there again.
